one of the most genuine people and instructors ive come across. Cathy is more than willing to do what she can help you get the mark you want in the course. regular office hours and weekly quizzes (2 questions, she takes best marks throughout the term for 10% of grade). Has a TON of extra material and answer keys available on her websites as well

Comment:

If you are doing math as a refresher, I would consider looking at the other instructors that teach this course, Cathy does a good job of teaching the subject if you haven't taken math at this level, but treats her students like children and forces group work/participation.

Comment:

Cathy can seem a little intense, but that's just because she actually loves the content she's teaching. I thought I would maybe scrounge up a C/C+ in this class, but I left with an A, and I credit the majority of that to Cathy's enthusiasm, clear and in depth instruction, and accessibility. It takes a couple weeks, but math ends up being fun :)

Comment:

Math 137 is a very dense course but Cathy covers the material as thoroughly as is possible in the time allotted. She's great at answering questions, elaborating when necessary, and figuring out where your confusion comes from when you get things wrong. Never opened the text book once. The online homework website she uses is far more useful.

Comment:

Cathy is a great teacher, people complaining about her being too fast clearly don't understand that she has to keep going even if you don't understand something in order to make the group progress . It is your duty to study outside of class hours. The only thing I did not like was the team activities, That is a personal problem I believe.

Cathy is a very sweet lady and a good person but her class is difficult if math isn't your strongest subject. She goes through the material very fast and acts like everything is simple just because she knows how to do everything easily. It's hard to ask questions in this class. I'm not great at math so this teaching didn't work for me.

Math isn't my strongest subject, Cathy frost did not make it any easier for me, or my classmates. Many of my class mates felt like they could not ask questions in this class as she would not answer them or laugh. I don't recommend taking her class if you struggle with math. I am VERY unsatisfied with her teaching style and lack of care for students

Cathy is an absolute gem! So sweet! She notices when you don't attend class and does everything she can to make sure you have any information you missed out on. She grades TOUGH on the assignments (not worth much) and EASY on the tests (which are worth a ton), which is so helpful as a learning strategy. Take any class she teaches!

Math isn't for everybody, me included, so though I didn't like Cathy's teaching style, she still did a great job. Her class requires you to drop at least 80 bucks so that you can do online quizzes every week and have access to homework (not worth marks), which can just be done in the textbook. She moves quickly, so if you struggle.. practice.

Comment:

Really nice lady and easy to work with. 137 is basically pre calc, it has a fair amount of content, so she moves quickly through material. She offers a course pack which I've heard is helpful, I don't personally use it as its mainly for note taking. I recommend going to class, although the online practice is solid also.

Comment:

Took her class after not having done a math course in a long time. She does a good job at explaining the concepts and her prepared package was super helpful. She does go fast through some material, but if you're in class everyday it shouldn't be a problem. Everyone in my course with great attendance did well. Tests are fair and she's helpful.

I took her class, and it was very fun. The atmospher was good, and she teaches really carefully. Although for some students this class might be too fast, for people who attend most lectures, it will be easy to pass and be prepared for future courses.

Cathy is the best! She is so sweet. One of the kindest, most patient people that I have ever met. I would highly recommend her to anybody!

I did well in 072 (with a different instructor) but struggled in 073 with Cathy. She's friendly enough but talks about a lot of useless stuff. She couldn't hold anyone's attention, laughed at her own jokes, treated the class like babies but then didn't cover the material thoroughly enough. And don't buy her course notes, they're pointless.
