Comment:

For most Biology majors you won't get a chance to skip this course and usually only Celeste teaches it. While it was an easy semester her deadlines were hard to follow and we had multiple group projects where others would not pull their weight. She isn't harsh on those who don't do their job which is annoying to those who stress to meet a deadline

Comment:

Dr. Humphrey is very laid back. Gives your candy every class period. Her course is lots of Ted Talks and lots of discussion in class since we only meet once a week for 2 hours. You have homework every week questions about the Ted Talk we watched that week and we have group projects. No tests so far. Final test is just a course evaluation

I took 3 classes from Dr. Celeste and I love her. She is the reason I switched my major to becoming a Biology teacher! Her classes are really easy, and although her lectures are long they are very informative and fun. She loves her job and it shows which makes the class so much better. STUDY THE PRACTICE TESTS!!! And she gives so much extra credit!

Amazing teacher that loves her job. You need help or don't understand just ask. She does tend to be skater brained a bit but is very funny and helpful. She give lots of extra credit and make sure to bring your clicker though. If you miss a lab talk to her and either she will let you make it up or say don't worry about(if you have a reason)

Such and easy class! Most content was common sense more than anything. I loved all of the material. Don't miss the clicker quizzes they count for a grade at the end of the semester. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS! The exact practice test answers are on the actual tests.

I took Dr. Humphrey for Intro to Biology (1107), and she is just a sweet, funny woman. She loves biology, BUT she doesn't help you to connect ideas/topics within her lectures. I spent most of the class cross-referencing the book, my lecture notes, and her outline in order to truly understand. Her online materials helped. Work hard & she'll help.

I took Dr. Humphrey for Ethical Issues in Science, and it's probably the easiest class I've taken. The discussion questions are largely opinion-based, so it's really easy. I definitely recommend.

If I could, I would put Dr. Humphrey in my pocket and carry her around! She is so sweet & funny. I have never been good at any science but she was so helpful and always willing to do so. She gives a lot of chances for extra credit so take them. One can tell that she is passionate about what she does so respect that. Takin again for 1108

Dr. Humphrey is Great! I was very concerned about taking this Biology class in 4 weeks during the summer, but after taking it with her I am amazed at what a great teacher she is and that she will go above and beyond to see that you do well! All that I did was study the practice test and notes and got an A! She is a great teacher!

Comment:

Humphrey was a easy class if you have a background in biology (like I did). She posts outlines online and you can gather further notes from her lectures. She also does practice tests which have a majority of the questions on the actual exam. Pay attention, take notes, ask questions, and do the practice tests and you should get a good grade!

Dr. Humphrey in my opinion goes above what i have ever seen a teacher do to help students exceed. If you are not doing well its because you are not taking responsibility for yourself. As a older student i see many students texting and on laptops facebook not paying attention to lecture. Gives xtra credit for note taking who does this! She is great.

Ethical Issues is a piece of cake for the most part. People talk about her giving her opinion- of course she does! You are expected to give your opinion, too. It's basically to show that everyone has different opinions & views, & that you should be respectful of them. Go to class, do the few assignments you are asked to do = A. She's nice, too.

This teacher is for those who would rather grate their faces against a brick wall than do biology. She explains the material well and gives examples that apply to real-life which makes understanding the material easier. She is enthusiastic about biology and teaching and is willing to explain the material over again if someone doesn't understand.

She is very fun and easygoing. I thought the ethics class was going to be very boring, but it was quite the opposite. It was a great break from all the hard and intense classes. This class was extremely fun and enjoyable.
