when you take a required course you don't really want to be there. Dr Ackerson makes a big difference. When you take his section you DO want to be there because he is interesting and he cares about his students. You will learn if you work hard and he will help you as much as you need.

I had the opportunity to take 4 classes w/ Dr. Ackerson & I took all of them. He. is. amazing. Work hard and you'll get the grade you deserve (a good one). He knows his stuff. He jokes around but it's all in good fun. Do yourself a favor and take his classes. You'll be glad you did.

If you want to get a good foundation in psychology, take this section. You will work hard but you will get so much out of it. This professor loves teaching and it shows and he cares about the progress of the class. Great experience.

Professor Ackerson is at the top of my favorites list. He does make you work for your grade, but he is always willing to help you. Professor Ackerson is very approachable and explains difficult concepts well. If you're willing to do the work and earn your grade, I highly recommend taking him any chance you get.

Comment:

If you do not have to take course, do you self a favor and take something else. The material is very very dry and the tests ate very very hard. Prof. Ackerson is a very nice guy and is very helpful but he's one of the very few Prof. out there that really make you work for your grade in this class. Not an easy class at all.
