Like many others have said, i would recommend not taking. He knows what hes doing he just has no idea how to teach it. Literally spends the entire class writing down whats in the book. The dude flies through like 3 sections in one class and then when you get home to do the homework you realize he didnt cover half the stuff.

He is the worst professor ever. EVER He will teach you nothing and expect you to learn it. I failed and took it the next quarter and it was a completely different class. DO NOT TAKE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES Even if you have to not take math this quarter. I am normally an A student in engineering and I failed.

Absolutely great teacher! He brings energy to class, every lesson. Whenever I had trouble, he would go over the question with ever lasting enthusiasm. We were able to cover our entire curriculum, with time to spare for the final review. By the way, I am "not" being sarcastic.

Ive never thought of making a review before, but I had to for this guy to warn all students. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Don't throw away this review like I did, please avoid Amelin. He teaches straight from the book to the board, plays youtube videos to fill class time, and does not let you know what is on the final that is worth 40% of your grade.

The worst math teacher you could ever take. He's worse than a professor that can't speak english. He's very unfair with his grading. He mentions about possibly curving towards the end, but then he doesn't pull through with his word. He treats the class as though it is senior level-although this is only STA 120. I'd recommend someone else.

This is not the best class,Amelin teaches the material, it's just hard to understand it on your own. He is cool about helping you just have to ask! Nobody does too well, I would'nt recommend him if you're not too good in math on your own.He is a nice professor though...

He doesn't teach well. It's hard to follow him bc he makes things more difficult then they really are. He isn't very helpful either. Doesn't give much hw and his tests are do-able, however more then half in the class score low. I wouldn't take him if you really need to know STATS.
