Comment:

Great professor because he knows the topic inside and out. If you are expecting an easy A and to not study at all then this is not he class for you! I went to every lecture and studied to the best of my ability and it's all he asks for. He warns you about the 2 tests being hard, therefore, you need to study and take the class seriously.

I do not know what the other reviews are about,Prof Massey was awesome.His lectures are informational, not for entertainment.He does joke.Massey knows the people who wrote the theories in Criminology. The man knows what he is talking about. he is open for discussion after class. He supports students and curves tests. He sparked my passion for CCJ.

Comment:

Massey is the worst professor at FAU. His lectures are boring, his voice is only audible in the first 5 rows, and he doesnt care about anyone whatsoever. Uses a "bell curve" to grade midterm and final, which will either help or hurt you. Bought the book but didnt open it all semester. Avoid this professor if at all possible!!!

VERY BORING TEACHER! First thing he told us was in two years he will be retiring and he cant wait. talks in monotone. Everyone in my class was sleeping with in 30 mins. All he seems to care about is retirment.

Prof. Massey is not the worst teacher at FAU, but he is not the best either.His lectures are boring, the material is straight from the text which explains why attendance is not madatory, but the tests are a little tricky so read. I am going to end up with a B, my first ever! But, tests are curved. Good luck!

This teacher was horrible! Boring as hell! I took his morning class, which he spent half of it talking about current events. sit in the front because he's very hard to hear. He only gave 2 tests so u really have to know the material.

although he is old he knows his stuff well and i promise you if you sit in the front row just to be there he would like you he will feel like your listening and wont be on your case...he only has 2 tests but there very str8 forward and guranteed to past with atleast a b.attendance isnt mandatory but the notes are helpful

Prof. Massey is a great professor and his lectures and clear and organized. People who write bad comments are stupid, lazy and don't bother to put in the effort. In order to receive an A (which I did) just go to class, take notes, and read the chapters. It is not rocket science!

Okay read my comments very carefully. Go to EVERY class. Write/type his powerpoints VERBATiM. He will give a review, telling you exactly what to leave out, and what to specifically study, Highlight That ! He curves the tests due to the idiots. You will pass if you read what I just wrote. Take him and wake up.

If this is your major, this is exactly the guy you want teaching you. He has been there and done it, from a Law Enforcment perspective to a field criminologist perspective. The guy is extremely knowledgable of the topics but yeah as you read below he is monotone, but college isn't supposed to be like saved by the bell either. Tests are st8 foward

Everyone judges him too harshly. His tests are extremely easy, his review is exactly what is going to be on the test. He is not mean at all. He is just monotoned. He is the only one teaching criminology so you are stuck with him but he is not that bad.

Everyone needs to grow up n learn how to take responsibility for their education. He's not the most interesting professor out there but his lectures are clear and reflect the exam perfectly. If you attend class and take notes, you'll be fine. I'd preffer him over a lot of professors out there who could care less if you learn.
