I had Dr. Charles F. Petranek for Sociology 110 back in the early 1980's. He imparted a love of current events, why people do what they do, and a general sense of being involved in the wold I live in. Dr. P made a positive impact on my life.

While I had Prof. Petranek, I was an employee at the Univ. He was always VERY helpful and interested in his students. The classes were very educatoinal, enjoyable, but not blow-off classes. This class was great, He was the best teacher I ever had and sorry the tests were not easy..... It just goes to show you that you can't please everyone. Just because he was willing to work with you on anything doesn't mean he is easy. I knew people who flunked that class.

I have rearranged my schedule on several occassions to take Dr.Petranek's classes. He has flawlessly integrated education and fun. I laugh out loud in every class. Material made easy and tests are easy if you study the night before. Attendance is important, but it's easy to go to his class.
