Yes, the lectures are long - and yes, long lectures can be boring. Despite having to deliver an overwhelming amount of information in a short time, Professor Springer was a bright and fun professor. Smart students will take photos of his slides (transcribe them later for parallel use with the book) and sit back, relax, and enjoy his stories.

I was very excited for this class as i love history, however the class turned out boring. the professor was a great teacher except for his monotone voice, it is what made the class boring. do not take as a morning class! always willing to help the students however.

Mr Springer was a wonderful professor with an expansive knowledge of History. His class is far from boring if you actually WANT to be there. He's a little older, so he's not bouncing all over the room as some younger professors might. His grading was not hard and he gave you a chance to correct papers for a better grade. Very understanding teacher

By far, this is the most boring professor I've ever had. I'm a history major; I love history, but his lectures cause me to pray for the end. To be frank, his lectures are so painful to listen to, I'd rather sit still for an hour and a half and hear nothing. He is also a hard grader. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one!

okay with late assignments. seems to actually care about the class. actually uses the all the time allowed for the class. follows the textbook with in class notes. if you do the notes sheets he hands out you should pass.

He seems like a nice guy, but his class is the most boring class I have ever taken in my life. He gets off topic a lot, kind of mono-tone so it's hard to keep focus, and just very boring. I can't stress that enough. Also half of each class seemed like we were talking about the Islam religion. That's not what I signed up for.

Ok, The guy obviously really loves history and has a deep passion for it. The only problem is that he really doesn't know how to express it well and clear in order for the class to understand. Easy tests, not a lot of studying required. VERY nice guy and always willing to talk and help you out when you need it.

Springer is the most boring professor I have ever had. He does NOT follow his syllabus, he does NOT pay attention to time, and he does NOT belong in a college environment. I would have taken Professor Newell for 112, but he was only teaching 116 this semester. I do NOT recommend Springer for anyone.

I loved this professor! He is my absolute favorite.He made easy to follow power points that were the basis of the whole course. He is extremely fair and understanding teacher and I would recommend him to anyone.

good teacher he knows his stuff. shows his liberal sides at times. some classes its hard to stay awake but if interested this course is for you. Quiz after every chapter but really didnt mean anything. he has a film review and a chapter analysis. An essay for his midterm and final. Great guy fair grader.
