Take any professor other than Mrs. Ross! She is a cranky old lady that it is impossible to satisfy. She assigns lots of useless busy work and absurd assignments that have nothing to do with public speaking. The class is passable but it's more work than anyone wants to put forth on a public speaking class. And after making A's on every assignment except for one, I managed to somehow not to get an A in the class. Avoid at all costs!!!

This teacher is the worst. I have her for social of narrative(story telling). She stresses that all of the stories told in her class should be absolutely truthful when her own are filled with impossibilities. Scheduled a mandatory event during finals week that's held at 3pm. Her syllabus has no dates or info but we're told to always refer to it.

I read all of the comments about her being intimidating, and I was very scared on the first day of class. However, she is a very sweet lady that is extremely helpful. Her class is fairly easy: 4-5 speeches, one five page paper, a fallacy exam and a take home portfolio for the end. If you just put the effort in, it's an easy class.

I had her for public speaking. She surprised me as well. I thought it was going to be super hard... but all we had to do was 4-5 speeches which I did fairly well on A-B range. I also had to do these fallacies example. but not sure if she has changed how she teaches...

Easy class as long as you do all ten papers she requires. Does not teach material very well and does not stay on subject. Dd not learn anything about public speaking from this class. You will be drilled with fallacies. Whenever she explains anything, you will feel like you are at story time.

Mrs. Ross is intimidating at firs but really is okay. You have five speeches to do, with a good amount of time to prepare for them. There is also a five page paper you have to do. If you get on her good side, follow the instructions to the speeches, and don't miss class, you will do fine. I think she was a great public speaking teacher.

Extremely Surprising. Seems like a hard teacher. She told us the first day that if anyone could get us through speech, she was it. She wasn't lying. Not extremely easy, but just go to class regularly and do your speeches and your home free. Very interesting...

Im not going to lie this teacher suprised me. I didnt do so hot on my midterm. I made A's on all my speaches and an A on my final. I thought that the speaches and the final would outweigh the midterm. still i made a B-. When I asked her about it she told me to come in with all my papers over the summer and we would count up the points. not helpfull

this lady is absolutely hilarious. i got all A's on my speeches, did horrible on my final and i TALKED my way into an A+. Her grading scale is kinda weird, but she'll work with you. Half the time she just complains about the technology and how hard it is to understand. i recommend her just because I had alot of fun in the class.

She isn't too hard. She did give out a outline for us to do that kinda sucked. She was nice enough not to hurt my grade too much when I forgot to prepare one. All in all, she is good, but there might be better ones. I suggest trying someone else.

You have to give 4 speeches in this class... classes are boring and she lost one of my 5 page papers... but all in all not a terrible class to get through.

This class doesn't start out too bad, but after awhile it sucks. I didn't learn anything about writing better speeches, she just makes you follow five steps every time and write outlines. Also she would tell me my speeches were great and then give me a bad grade. If she doesn't like you, you will probably fail. TERRIBLE TEACHER!

She is the worst prof I've ever had. She is never clear on anything- even if you ask her to clarify. I did good on all of my speeches but ended up with a C+. I emailed her to ask how this happened and she hasn't answered. It almost as if she wants you to bad. And as others have said- her grading scale is retarded.

Well like someone else stated, I managed to get an A on all but one of the speechs, and great grades on everything directly related to speechs. But her grading scale is "WTF!". Took two mini-quizzes that she didn't tell us were worth as much as the exam :o Your speech skills should improve and not much busy work outside of speeches.

She's not that bad. Honestly. Do your speeches on time. You can get away writing them that day and just don't let a dead-line creep up on you. It's not too much busy work and rarely any homework other than attending 1 speaker outside of class. She's sweet and tried to get to know you. You feel at home after awahile. It's worth it.

I really had no interest in taking this class and was about to drop it because the thought of public speaking was awful... But she made the class fun and let us all get to know eachother so it wasnt that bad to stand up and talk in front of everyone...

Whatever you do, dont take this professor. I recieved nothing lower than an A in all the speeches we had to do, completed all the assigments with either an A or a B and still managaed to get a C. Her attendance policy is **** along with her unclear methods of teaching, stay the **** away

She is alright. Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Very animated lady and its not that much work. Just some reading in your free time with some notes and then listening to speeches for about 2 weeks so you dont have that much homework so it's a plus. The speeches are pretty easy as well
