Lots of homework. Accent is hard to understand but you can get used to it. He really knows his material and is always willing to help. Many quizzes too. Overall good professor

Comment:

Took precalc all the way to calc 2. He was a good professor and is always willing to help. He's understanding too, so if you have an overload of exams or homework for another class he'll adjust to help his students. He's also avail for help outside of class so if 50 or 80 minutes isn't helping you, feel free to ask him for extra help!

Comment:

Wong is an intelligent man. Although he has a strong Chinese accent, he is a great professor. He gives a lot of homework and quizzes, but once every week. He always ask if anyone needs help, so don't be shy and ask. He breaks it down for you to understand the material. For the final exam, there are two parts. However, the 2nd part is open notes.

Comment:

Dr. Wong, despite how hard he is to understand, he is an awesome professor. If you're having a hard time, he'll help you out. He'll make mistakes sometimes and joke about it. Also, if you tell him that you are piled with HW/Exams he will move the due date/exam date as long as the whole class agrees. I would definitely take one of his classes again.

Comment:

Had him for MA110+MA210: He's very nice. Gives many quizzes (but tells you ahead of time and content)&lots of homework that help your grade. If you mess up he'll let you redo it for a better grade. He's also very helpful and has many tutors that can help. His accent is thick but is easily overcome able. One of the best professors I've ever had!

Wong is amazing! He is really passionate about math. He may be difficult to understand because of his thick accent but if you ask he is willing to go over the problem and explain. By the time you get to calc 2, he does expect you to know the basic stuff like deriving. He lets you use your notes during exams too.

Do not take Wong, Take Cochran. Wong is a horrible professor. He is disorganized and when he gets upset because you don't understand he gets upset at you in front of the whole classroom. Although 99% exams is calc 2 are open notes in his class, he doesnt teach very well, so you wont do well. 90% of the class got a C. Take Cochran.

Wong is a little difficult to understand especially when talking to you about your questions. He is great about working the problems out on the board, so if you have questions ask him to work the problem out step by step. He is very smart, and if you try will go out of his way to help you succeed.

Took his pre-calc, calc 1 & calc 2 class. This man is a genius! He has a thick accent,so get used to it. if youre the type of person that whines about such things,dont even try. Ive watched classmates fail bc they wouldnt get past it. he thoroughly explains problems & has tons of office hrs for extra help so dont worry, youll pass

Do your homework and keep organized notes. 99% of your tests and quizzes will be open book and open notes. Also don't expect to get anything back in a timely manner. Wong is a bit scatterbrained at times. And the accent gets easier over time.

Dr. Wong is the man. He knows his stuff & is very passionate about teaching calculus. Although he has a thick accent, he basically writes down EVERY SINGLE STEP involved in solving equations. So as long as you take good notes, everything's fine. ALso, he helps you whenever you need it, reguardless how stupid you may think your question may be...

I'd say that he's got to be the worst teacher I've had along with Mr. Chandler. You can barely understand what he's saying. He also teaches the material too fast without thoroughly explaining how to do it step by step. The homework is even worse. Even if you do it, if there's a wrong answer or it's not how he wants it...he makes you redo it. I say: BE HAPPY I EVEN DID THE HOMEWORK!! Give me the points I deserve and let that be the end of it. If you're smart, you'll take Eiko Tyler or Ed Reiser.

Dr. Wong is a great teacher. Yes, he has an accent, but that did not matter in class. What matters was that he was willing to help his students and most definately clarify some problems students were having. He knows his subject and one can see that he enjoyed teaching Math. He even made me like it.

I will agree with the majority that he has a thick accent. However, you get used to it and if you don't, tough**** for you. Easiness really depends on if math comes easy or not to you. I suggest going to class. He doesn't really stay on schedule so you never know when you have quizzes. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! a lot of points go towards homework. Out of class, he's a great person and very willing to help you out if things are getting too hard or if the work load is getting heavy.
