Tests are unforgiving. You miss the mark on the first one it is hard to catch up. He should (could) have warned us of the unbelievable low averages on the first exam. If you study really hard for that one, it gets better. But, if you fail to make a "okay" grade on it, you'll be working you butt off to pass the class.

I think his class is easy but many others do not. He is a really funny guy but can pick on people, so have to have tough skin. His lectures can get a little confusing, but just do the homework and study guides. His tests are just like those. The book is terribly confusing and no help. I'd take another class with him.

A little flighty. Loses his train of thought alot. But, nice guy who make the class fun. His tests are JUST like his study guides. Make sure he knows you and he'll help you out. Show up and pay attention. Not super-easy. Moderate study time required.

Great Professor. He really knows his material and he is down to Earth. Very important to note that Dr. Johnson gives out a ton of homework which is graded. Also, start on the Research project immediately. It is deceptively difficult and WILL take two full weeks to complete it comfortably. DON'T SLEEP ON THE PROJECT!!!

Urban Economics was an interesting and informative class. There was a large research component to the class. Dr. Johnson is not always easy to catch during office hours but he is helpful.

Dr. Johnson is a great instructor. If you want to do well in class and learn the material make sure to ask questions and work the practice problems he hands out. He is very helpful during office hours. I will be taking him whenever I get the chance.

Go to class or you will fail. If you have great/good attendance you get EC- he does random attendance checks. Tests are 1/2 MC and 1/2 continuation problems- if you cant do part A, you cant get part B,C,D right EITHER! if you stick the class out he helps your grade out a lil at the end. Make sure he knows your face.

I love Professor Johnson. He is not a teacher you take if you simply want an easy A. This class is a difficult one, but he will help you if you show that you are trying. Overall great class, incorporates humor into the lectures (loves his bologna biscuits) haha. I am taking him again!

I am not and will never be an economist so this was a hard class for me but Mr. J was really helpful and knew I was trying with all my might to pass so he did all he could to help. Take good notes and don't miss class. Don't buy hard copy of the book, b/c you'll have to pay for the online access to do the homework. Great teacher, hard subject!

This guy is extremely knowledgable and helpful. The material is difficult and kinda hard to study for. He will bend over backwards for anyone who demonstrates determination. Class avg was below failing, but its not supposed to be easy. KNOW and DO all Aplia's, ask serious questions, and do not ever miss a class. Would not rec. if taking full load.

Dr. Johnson is super funny and nice! Let me tell you...I hate economics with a passion!!! I have a personal grudge against it and I still ended up getting a B+ in the class...DO ALL of ur homework assignments (he just give u a check or no check) and its a huge chunk like 15%...so as long as u turn in some BS ur fine.

He basically reads from his powerpoint slides, but does incorporate examples to help in understanding. You will have to do group work which is pretty hard, and the group project is A LOT of work. Make sure you read the material before class and do the homework or you will be lost.

The statistics class is hard just b/c its statistics. Do not buy the book, did not use it at all. Rely on PPTs. Be prepared before class, otherwise you are completely lost! Helpful to students during office hours. Nice and cool guy. Crystal clear in explanations. Would take again!

He made me laugh all the time. made a difficult class more enjoyable with his shennanigans. be sure to study EVERYTHING for the tests...handouts, homework, powerpoints, study guide. understand concepts for three discussion questions on test, 10 pts a piece and three problems. the book doesn't really help all that much...come to class. :)
