The final grade in this course will be the avg. of 3 tests. In Colleen's lectures, you'll learn about everything but the material you'll be tested on. Can ditch her office hour appointment with no heads up. I realized she wouldn't show after waiting an hour. All questions will be handled bureaucratically, so better tattoo the syllabus to yourself

Comment:

Professor McCoy is a great teacher. Although she can be intimidating and blunt, I really respected her knowledge of psychology. I would take her again if the opportunity arose. If you pay attention in class, take good notes, study, and READ THE SYLLABUS. You will get a decent grade in her class!

Comment:

Wish I had something positive to say. But when you show up to class and see the class getting smaller each week, I think that says enough. I've had great professors in the past along with not so good ones. Rude and Disrespectful pretty much sums it up. But If I could recommend any other Psych course I would, just not with this prof.

Comment:

Regardless of some of these rather distasteful comments, Professor McCoy was an excellent professor. Please do not let these negatives distract from all that she does for her students. Instead, decide for yourself! Nothing in this course is just handed to you and clearly that was expected of the few that were left unsatisfied.

This professor only had three grades throughout the semester. If you do poor on one assignment it is difficult to bring your grade back up. The class itself is very simple cuz if you read you will be mostly ready. However lectures were basically useless. This professor always got side tracked and would talk about other things rather than psychology

Comment:

Here is the HARD truth about Professor Mccoy, she says it how it is. She does not baby you. She treats you like an adult. She can come off way ruder than you think. She can be a savage, but she makes great points. She is inspirational. She is really kind when you really get to know her. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT AND FOLLOW HER OUTLINES.

She was a good professor overall. The grading criteria doesn't change. She is very upfront and honest. You definitely have to read the book and attend the lectures to pass the class. The best part is she offers extra credit for 3 out of the 4 tests.

Comment:

Professor McCoy is very blunt, but in both an academic and humorous way. She lays out what is expected of you. She is not afraid to speak what is on her mind. Don't let this scare you, she has many wonderful stories and jokes to tell. Grade in the class only depended on four tests, so study hard for those. Three words: Read the syllabus!

She is a tough teacher, but she does give you a clear outline of what she expects from you. You will do good on tests if you read and take notes. If you study the outlines and objectives you can easily get a good grade in this class.

Colleen is a very good professor no doubt. She has very high expectations for her students and she treats you like a real university student. Its a very clear cut course 4 tests 400 points. If you get a 70 or below you have to make an appointment to speak with her but to be honest it's not as bad as it seems. She has free points (extra credit).

Professor Colleen McCoy is very intelligent. Her class is difficult, but that's because she treats you like a real university student. If you study and attend class, you'll learn very much. She has a personality that's not for everyone, but she really cares about student success as she provides excellent chapter outlines and gives extra credit.

I have heard many people complain about McCoy, but personally, I am in favor of her. She can be intimidating, but she knows the material from the textbook like the back of her hand and it is easy to pay attention during lectures. The only grades are 4 exams throughout the semester and up to 30 EC points. Also, make sure you read the syllabus!

AMAZING TEACHER. Very intelligent. Treats students like responsible adults. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, she makes a note to research it later instead of making up answers or simply saying I don't know. Not many teachers do that! She may seem intimidating but has a witty, biting sense of humor that I really appreciated.

I took her 5 week class summer 2013. She's not going to baby you or treat you with kid gloves. If you can't do the work and follow the syllabus agreement rules you won't do well.she thoroughly covers content and you'll enjoy her class if you enjoy the subject. I'm taking another summer course with her this year.

THE BEST PROFESSOR AT COD. I HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT FOR THIS WOMAN. You won't regret taking any course with Professor McCoy, unless your a softy and easily offended by the reality of her words. She says it how it is, AND she ACTUALLY TEACHES, not like the rest of the prof who waste class time talking about their marriage issues. LIFE CHANGING.

Great teacher. Shes the real deal. She comes to class to TEACH. She doesnt waste any time. gives great examples. stops class to answer questions. Shes one of those old school teachers. Hardcore teacher but shes respectful. in regards to the course, study!!!! and do the extra credit. it pays off. awesome teacher.
