Dr. D'Addio is easily the best professor that I've had in my time in college. He was passionate about the topics he taught and always was there to help. He was tough at times, but only if you didn't give any effort in class. All teaching aside, Dr. D'Addio is also one of the greatest and most interesting people I've ever met.

I had him for theory 1, and I loved him. If I needed help (which was a lot), he was there to help. The tests are pretty easy if you study up on the chapters. Attendance is mandatory. He did give a lot of homework, and it wasn't always easy. If you do the work, you'll pass, and he's always there to help. Def prepared me for theory 2. Hard but good.

He is useless in aural skills. Unless you're naturally good at it, he will embarrass you publicly. No matter how hard you try, he will keep saying you don't practice. He's degrading and dehumanizing. Thinks he's gods gift to the world. Don't bother asking for help, he won't give you anything useful. He lives to make his students feel bad

I've had D'Addio for a number of classes, and I can tell you that if you are willing to do the work, he will be the best thing for you. The people who don't work tend to blame him for their own mistakes. Passionate, articulate, artistic, and funny professor. The classes are always fun and engaging.

Quite 2 sided. Talks a good game then hurts you in the end. Not very tolerant to student issues. Might be time to take the golden handshake

To everyone complaining: this is college, get used to hard work. Try studying! Not all music classes are easy As! He also made orchestra better because he pushed people to better themselves and to ACTUALLY PRACTICE! D'Addio is a GREAT professor, very smart, and very kind. He is not smug at all. If you have a problem with him, the problem is you.

Do NOT take this class. We had 4 exams. The averages on all of them were around 60-65%. The highest grades people got were 81. On all of his exams more than 50% of the class failed. He won't curve, instead he just adds more work for us to do. We had 3 concert reports and 2 other essays along with the exams. He is VERY SMUG and FULL OF HIMSELF.

Do not take this class. It is a complete waste of time, i thought it would be an easy A considering i know a good amount about music but it was not like that at all. Exams are heavily weighted and the best grade on them was an 78 - super hard. 3 or 4 concert reports that are unrealistic because he wants them 5 pages which is impossible. Dont bother

Its hard to learn with all of his crazy stories throughout class. I don't think many of us improved that much enough to go out into the real world and conduct. Fun class but gets kinda frustrating.. let us conduct already! and stop talking!!!
