The prof was good hearted yet hard on students for their own good. He will challenge the hell out you but will not leave you in the cold if you hard. Took us to the Reagan museum and it was a very enlightening experience in my life.

I've failed many classes at Chaffey before I got my act together. This professor came before I hit the books hard. To this day I cannot say how invaluable his teachings were. I remember everything he taught me, and I can't say that about 85% classes I've taken. He doesn't have time for BS and neither do the people that take his class to get an A.

Professor Aseltine is the best professor I've ever encountered. In addition to classroom instruction, he gave valuable planning advice for undergrad and grad school. We still correspond to this day about my career in public policy, which he inspired!

One of the few teachers who knows his subject beyond face value. His knowledge of the political landscape in California in particular is vast, students who put in the effort are rewarded with an incredibly insightful experience.

Without a doubt, he was one of the best instructors I've had. He places extremely high expectations on his students, which clearly isn't for everyone - do not show up unprepared. If you're willing to put the time in, though, you'll get a great deal from any of his classes.

asked him about taking a class with him next semester, cuz I really enhjoyed him as a teacher this semster. He told me he was moving away to No Cal, so this is his last term @ Chaffey. To me, this is a major loss for Chaffey. He is funny, extremely helpful to me as a student, and always qucik with his responses to my email questions.

Overall an excellent instructor full of passion for politics and makes students pay attention to what's going on around us. Tests are long and thorough, but in the end its worth it with the grade earned

worst instructor I have ever had. Working on my Master's, so I've had many. It was his way or the highway. Singled students out & embarrased them in class. Would never reccomend & should be removed from teaching. Started class w/40 students & ended w/3. What a waste!!

way high on my list of Top Ten teachers. he likes to think he is hard on the students, but really is is genuinely nice and approachable underneath that formal exterior. he kept me focused in a class that could easily have been boring. he does inssist that you do the reading every week. rigorous but extremely helpful. take this guy if you can!

most definitely a tough, rigorous instructor. but I learned a great deal from him and am very grateful that he has such high standards. he pushed me to think hard about what I was reading and how I was reacting to the readings. he emphasized listening to the Saturday radio addresses, which turned out to be fun, actually. a wonderful professor.

awesome instructor. very passionate about his responsibilities, and he expects us to be serius as his students. no doubt he is the best teacher I have had in my many years at chaffey. however, don't take his class if you expect to get by by gettin' by ... he wants to see real effort and production from the student. excellnet professor!

top-notch instructor -- somebody who is really excited about Poli Sci and tries hard to pass on that excitement to us students. he helped us prepare for the quizzes, and his comments on my paper were dead-on and will assist me with future papers. strongly recommend him.

Professor Aseltine's class is not for anyone who wants to just "skate". He expects you to be prepared for every class, but it's not unreasonable. He gives great examples to what he is teaching. If you read the material, do as he asks, and show up every class, you will get a good grade. Highly recommend for those interesting in political science.

Aseltine seems very hard core, and there are rules he had that seemed a little unreasonable. It was my mistake to take this class at 6:30am! He does not tolerate tardiness or unpreparedness, but as long as you participate in class, he can make things very interesting, and sometimes even fun.

This guy is not worth the anxiety caused. He doesnt care about you, at all. He sent out the syllabus 2 weeks prior, and demanded that his class be your top priority, and said QUOTE: "My class is all that should matter in society. You can do without math, science, english, and history." Also- will drop if any absences. Even excused medical ones.

Totally awesome instructor. Like the others who have rated him, I thinl he's used to getting a high level of involvement from students in class. He wants you to be really involved with the readings and class discussions. He helped me alot regarding my plans for my major at the University level. Take this guy if you really want to learn.

Easily the best Chaffey professor I've ever had. Takes his work seriously. Comes to class fully prepared and expected us the students to be ready, too. Lots of examles from current political events. He's tough/demanding and insists that you keep up with the reading -- but underneath it all he's areal teddy bear. Great instructor!
