Good guy. Understanding and flexible when neccessary. Only problems: he's slow to respond to e-mails and he smokes a lot and you defintely smell it. If allergies are bad, don't sit in the front-row.

Although I can't say I actually learned a lot through him, his class was fun and it was easy to get an A. He likes class discussions and debates. Keeping up with current news would be a good idea. Either way, he's laidback guy. I'll take him again if he's teaching another class I need.

Comment:

A laidback teacher who knows the subject well. He tries to make Poli. Sci. interesting by throwing in fun facts and telling jokes. The assignments aren't hard, but they do require thought, especially the two papers based on films he chooses. If one does all assignments and studies occasionally, it shouldn't be too hard to achieve a desired grade.

He is not too understanding. He plays favorites in the class. Also he wants people to discuss a lot in the class and if you just observe he will call on you and even if you get the answer right he will tell you that you're wrong then he will call on his favorite students to answer.

He kept class interesting with discussions and interesting movies. Very few homework assignments in the summer: 6 one page papers, 2 essays. All of the information was clear and quizzes were multiple choice and based straight from the lecture. If you show up to class and do all of the assignments, there's no reason why you shouldn't receive an "A".

Count Volkan is really cool. His class is easy. His grading is easy. The only thing hard in his class is trying to understand his accent. A or B is not a problem for the marginally intelligent. C and below means the student just didn't care and deserved the grade.

Pretty fair teacher, grades off of points so you can see for yourself what grade you'll be recieving. Dont miss the quizzes or tests and youll do fine. Tests are off of lectures and some studying from the book. I got a C in the class because i missed most of the quizzes and didnt really study for tests...still passed tho :)

Do not take this professor if you wish to recieve a 'fair' grade. Professor Kalender awards good looking females who received low grades throughout the semester with final a final grade of 'A.' I'll be reporting this to the Dean asap.

Kalender is overall a pretty good teacher. His tests are a bit tough, and there's quite a bit of reading (along with other assignments, quizzes, and projects, and orals), and his accent sometimes gets in the way, but he still is passionate, nice, and quite intelligent in his subject. There are probably better PS profs, but Kalender is pretty good.

He is a really good, his class is very easy and so are his test, his test is all out of his lecture. Hardly any homework over all its an easy class. He gives detailed lecture which helps. Over all he is good. Not bad looking also. I will recomend his class for sure.

Mr Kalender is so sweet. i love his accent! he loves teaching pol science though. its funny. he grades on a curve big time,he is very kind and understanding when it comes to late work or late tests.the whole class almost got an A sheesh! just make sure you do your paper and letter.(grammer)not bad looking either,always smells good too!hes so cute

Get past the accent and he's a cool teacher. All notes are PowerPoint, and he gives you a copy. Tests are easy as long as you can write a decent essay and remember basic key concepts. There was hardly any homework, but he does want class participation.
