I took his anthro 1L lab. Funny guy. I really enjoyed his class. He's very generous with the tests. He made the tests really hard but then you can easily earn extra credits which boosts up a whole letter grade. Highly recommended!

He is really passionated about what he does and definitely wants to get students excited about forensic anthropology. He's not that organized in general, but he is a good lecturer and he puts a lot of effort into creating good hands on exercises for the labs. He also assigns great books- "The Bone Woman" was super interesting.

anthro is my life, but i had to turn his class into a test to not lose faith. He was extremely discouraging & has such clear favorites I was scared I'd be fun of by him and his disciples if I had a Q. Acts like after-class Qs torture him. Sad, but it seems he doesn't get that STUDENTS could be there bc they're PASSIONATE. Likes to hear himself talk

I took Cearley for Physical Anthro, and I would not recommend him. He made his class unnecessarily hard with his lack of contact with the students. He would change the due dates of important projects at least six or seven times. I don't recommend his class, but if you take it, talk to him a lot and go to his office hours. Hopefully that will help.

Confident guy, likes to interact with students for class discussions. If you say something stupid or ignorant, he'll let you and everyone else know. A bit disorganized and has, at times, illegible handwriting. Not the greatest professor, but definitely not the worst. Class discussions reign supreme so, to stay interested, you have to SPEAK UP!

This instructor is nice, but not so helpful. What he teachers looks like anthropology, but I don't think so. If you really want to learn something, pleasse don't choose this one.

Absolutely awesome teacher. Likes what he teaches, funny, but also happens to have the worst handwriting(which says a lot bc my handwriting is really bad) and disorganized notes. Pay attention to the 15 page paper and you'll do fine.

Open and laid-back with students. Disorganized sometimes, but makes sense of it all. Up-front about expectations and requirements, willing to help, gives slack where needed. Tends to bombard you with a lot of info. Sloppy h/w, bad speller (esoteric words)

the class is quite easy and fun. but it's almost impossible to read his handwriting and the notes he writes on the board is very unorganized. you would score really high in exams if you follow the exam review. the 15pages project is a tough one tho.

His class was fun. Took a bit of studying for finals and a 15 page ethnography, but was always willing to help and basically only cared if you finished everything. i would recommend him
