Really intelligent. A great teacher and philosopher. Not an easy grader, but not extremely tough either. If you enjoy philosophy and work hard, you should do well enough.

Comment:
She isn't very open to exploring critiques of the philosophers and instead always tries to defend them and frame questions from their point of view, dismissing any criticisms and so depriving the students of the chance to explore their own philosophical sensibilities. Her class is more a history of philosophy as a result, and a boring one at that.

Professor Macbeth explains complicated ideas very clearly. She teaches philosophy in a style of telling a story. Students listen most of the time, though she really welcomes question and doubts.

Very smart. A somewhat hard grader who cares more about content than style. Can be very funny.

Comment:
Danielle is a superb professor who demands a rigorous approach to philosophizing that is refreshing in the age of inane, postmodern theorizing. Her classes are difficult, but you will be amply rewarded for your efforts. She's not afraid to demonstrate convincingly that you're wrong, but you should take that as a prompt to argue back at her anyway.

She is an excellent teacher who loves the material. Take her classes if you're interested in philosophy, not if you want an easy intro.

She's wonderful. She expects you to ACTUALLY read the texts she assigns, and you won't get far unless you do, but the payoff is huge. Especially recommended for any class involving Kant, who seems to be her hero.
