It's been awhile since I took his class, but I still remember so much from this course and his funny examples too. Dr. Seta really knows his stuff.

Not the best professor to teach the materials. It was hard to be engaged in his lecture because he rambled a lot. His tests are difficult too.

Hated this class. He rambled constantly. It was difficult to gauge where he was going half of the time. He was retiring and told us at the beginning of the semester that he wasn't interested in teaching this class. It showed. His teaching assistant was not helpful at all. He rarely responded to my emails.

Blah class. Subject's alright, but he doesn't really teach so much as ramble. Forget about actually learning anything that's in the book during a lecture. His grad assistant is a flat out airhead.

I enjoyed the professor and the class. Although the coursework was challenging, I learned a great deal - which is the point, I believe. He doesn't spoon-feed. Take notes like a madman (or woman) and study the text. Do a bit each day. Although the curve is generous, cramming for his tests won't cut it. Oh, and go to class.

As others have said, his teaching style is really difficult to follow.. Just rambling on and on and telling random, unrelated stories. Even if you read the all the chapters in the book (as I did) the tests are still difficult and confusing. Also, the subject matter is just wayyy less interesting than it sounds.

If you like old-school lectures where an old, boring man talks the entire time without a powerpoint, and if you like studying the correct material from a book written in the 90s to only get a D on a ridiculous exam, then this is the class for you! Enjoy.

Taking his class was the biggest mistake I could have made. I'm an A student and will be getting a C in his class, which I had to work really hard for. He only gives you 3 exams. That's it, nothing else. And if you do bad on one exam, you're screwed. He's not helpful, incredibly boring, and has his TA do everything. Avoid him at all costs.

Honestly one of the worst and hardest classes I've taken at UNCG (and I'm a senior). I hated it. I'm a straight A student and I'm probably going to get a B in this class. The textbook is drier than sawdust and practically incomprehensible. I hated his lecture style. He stood up there and rambled. No powerpoints. Tests were outrageously difficult.

Go to every class and read the book and should always get at least a B- on the tests. He also tells you every subject that will be on the test and how many questions on said subject.

As long as you read the book and come to class, you will be fine. He gives you exactly what will be on the test a class or two before, so if you know the information, it's easy to do well. Also, his stories and lectures are hilarious, so it makes for an enjoyable class.

John's very clear in what he wants to teach the class and what he wants us to know. He's very pleasant and has pretty good life examples for the concepts he goes over. If you go to class and read the book you'll do fine.

A really nice guy, but don't take this class if you don't like learning from the book. He spends most of the lecture telling really funny stories, and gives 70 question exams that are basically all from the book. Read the book very carefully...questions are incredibly picky and most of them will be about stuff he never mentions in lecture.

I think Dr Seta is great. If you come to class and he recognizes you as one of his regulars he will help you. He tells what will be on the test when he knows all his regulars are there. He tries his best to help you and you don't understand!

Pro Seta is a good professor if you really want to be there and gather material. He is often late, from 5-10 minutes which doesnt really bother me but he sometimes lets you leave early and attendance is not required so u can leave whenever you want. He mixes life stories and the material which can be rather interesting and clarifying. Love him!

Dr. Seta expects his students to be responsible for the material he lecutures on. He doesn't spoon feed. He is hard to catch outside class, but if you catch him right after class he is warm and friendly and extremely helpful. I'd be glad to take more of his classes.

I can't give him a definite good or bad grade. His teaching style, for example, was not for me, so I used the book. If you're a visual learner, he's not your guy. But if you enjoy silly stories relevant to the coursework, he is the one for you. Just ask about Bruno and Brunelle. And read the book for the first two units. Third unit, not so much.
