For intro to web development he is a solid choice. If you follow along to his instruction during class it is really easy. There are a few assignments but they aren't that bad when he's there to help and sets a day of class or two to help you. He makes some pretty funny jokes that are kind of corny. Good choice for intro to web dev

Provine is easily the best professor I've had at rowan. He is so kind and understanding, not to mention really funny and reasonable. If you fail this class, its on you bc he will do everything he can to help.

The hardest professor I've ever had. Briefly goes over the material and expects you to know it. He'll give you bogus help when you see him for office hours. The tutors couldn't even help me except for one who was constantly busy helping everyone else from both sections. If you don't have prior Linux or C knowledge, you're pretty screwed.

I took professor Provine for intro to computer science. Right off the bat, he expected us to already know a lot about programming (I knew nothing). Throughout the course, the only things I learned were self taught or taught by peers. I asked the prof multiple times for help and was ignored. Highly do not recommend.

Beat teach I've had at Rowan so far. Knows the material. Really good and teaching while lecturing so you learn hands on. Funny if you get his nerdy jokes. Nice guy.

Professor Provine is a corky guy. Personally going in knowing no programming this class was very challenging. He gives lectures once a week then you work on assignments other day. He is not the best at explaining material and will not help you on specific assignments. His tests are very hard, but he does give test corrections the only saving grace.

He is a nice, funny guy, nerdy, which was great for me, but going in knowing nothing about programming he is not very helpful when you ask questions so I struggled a bit.

He moves fast but the lectures are good. He is clearly an expert on the material and mixes in a bit of (mostly cheesy) humor as well. Tests are challenging, but you can get 50% back in corrections. You can retake quizzes until you pass which is nice. I really enjoyed Lab Tech and would definitely take Professor Provine again. A great professor :)

This class is literally so hard if you have no background in programming. He expects you to know full programs and codes after only one day of briefly reviewing it.

He is an okay person with an okay personality. When you ask him for help, he tells you to read the book. Well, if you understood the book, then you wouldn't have to ask him questions in the first place. He is nerdy and hardcore. I do not recommend taking him.

had him for intro to scientific programming. i know that some kids struggled but i thought it was very easy. i spent a total of 19 seconds doing work outside of class (jk it was like an hour or 2 total). basically i did no work outside of showing up for class and i got an A. also, he's very nice & he's kinda funny.

For an intro class, I felt it was harder than other sections. But, I did learn a lot and was always challenged. You won't need the textbook, just pay attention in class and do your own labs. If you make the effort and do test corrections, it's an easy A.

Provine is a wacky man. Stuck in the 80s, but he knows his stuff. Gives you riddles back if you ask him questions, his labs get progressively harder but he gives you two weeks to turn them in if you dont finish. Exams are extremely difficult, but allows test corrections for half credit back. If you're lazy your gonna struggle. Recommended

Provine is amazing. While his tests were hard, he lets you take them back and fix your mistakes for half credit back. The stuff that you learn in Lab Techniques really matters, it makes life ever so much easier. Even if its not this class, every CS major needs to have at least one class with Provine before graduating.

Oh boy if you are not a computer genius don't take this class! The exams are open book & hard he extends them. homework and quizes are easy. Do every assignment given and show up for class for he can be sneaky in a good way. To some its easy if you are good at creating codes to run programs or want a challenge. if you dont have a clue don't take it

I LOVE THIS CLASS! 3 things to remember. 1) ALWAYS DO THE WORK, preferably alone. His tests are tough. Thankfully, he lets you take it home after initial grade to get half credit on corrections. USE THE BELL CURVE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. If you are above the average, you got a B. If you get a 90+ automatic A. if you get 85+ you most likely got an A.

Very cool teacher. He is the epitome of geek, but that's what's so cool about him! The class is pretty easy--he gives plenty of time to do labs and to do (and re-do) tests. He'll help you out a lot (especially if you at least show interest in the class) and he is very energetic and knowledgible. TAKE HIM!
