Great guy, super nice, and will answer literally any question your feeble mind could possibly imagine. Bachrach is hilarious and offers insight into anything you're confused about. Only 4 papers and participation as grades so try not to mess anything up. I'm not the greatest writer and typically get B+/A- so it's doable

Bachrach is a fun professor. He's funny, and I like the guy, he's quick with a joke or a reference of some sort. His classes are a bit tricky, as the entirety of the grade comes from papers. If you can't read a 200-400 page historical book and generate a good 5 page persuasive essay out of it, you'll not have a good time.

I really regret taking this course. I'm sure Bachrach is a great teacher, but he was all but absent form this online class. The entire course consisted of reading 5 long textbooks cover to cover and writing three papers a week which were graded more on grammar and style than on the historical content. It was extremely time consuming and stressful.

Nice professor. He is a very tough grader on papers. A lot of times there were sentences he would mark up that I still did not see what was wrong with them. This class was very time consuming.

Bachrach is the man! Took his class several years ago, talk about passion for his work! Learned a ton, laughed a ton, was thoroughly engaged every class. It was more reading then I've ever done for a class, however, I'm a non history major. Having Bachrach was real refreshing after so many sucky professors.

Very funny and great if you're interested in this period of history. His lectures have very little to do with the writing assignments, so it's not mandatory that you take notes for hist540 but if you do you'll learn a lot. He puts a lot of emphasis on writing, so be prepared to get a lesson in grammer and spelling.
