Comment:

Dra. Smith-Sherwood is an amazing professor. It's very clear that she loves what she teaches and she makes it easy to participate in class. There are a few papers, but the readings she chooses are really good. She also makes sure to meet with us after class just to meet with her and talk about anything you need help with.

Amazing prof! The class makes you think, her Spanish is great, and she's funny and kind. Takes the time to break things down if you don't understand them. Definitely take her if you can!

She is a great professor if you have had Spanish before, if not don't take! She tries to breakdown the material and give you as much practice as she can. If you miss class it really hurts your grade. There are lengthy hw assignments that are easy to forget. You are graded heavily on tests. If you try your best you can get a good grade.

As someone who never took Spanish before, this class was very hard to pass. She moves through material extremely fast and I didn't find her helpful. Would not recommend her for this class if your beginner. There are definety better Spanish Profs.

Lots of partner work. Can only miss four classes before grade goes down by 2 percentage points per each class you miss. Participate in class! I took 3 years of Spanish in HIghschool and this class was fairly easy. There was a quiz every week, usually on Friday. Very understanding and caring professor.

I loved this professor so much! She is so caring and cares about her students. She understands that things happen in life and is always there to help if you need! Just go to class, participate, and ask questions and you'll pass her class! Definitely recommend and would take her again.

Very nice and very helpful. Tests aren't too hard. There are a lot of worksheets that you have to do in class and you do have to read/speak spanish for the whole class almost every lecture but it's nothing embarrassing or excessive. She really helped me a lot this semester. I wish she was teaching 102

She is very friendly, however what she teaches in the classroom is not typically what is on the exam. I wish we learned how to speak Spanish more then just learning how to read the language. There is at least one homework assignment and quiz/exam each week.

I'm not a big fan of the language department and just have no ambition to learn a foreign language, however, Dr. Smith-Sherwood is a fantastic professor. She is unlike any professor I have ever had when it comes to helpfulness. She is incredibly easy going and pretty fun on occasion. Great Professor, I would recommend her every time.

Doctora Smith-Sherwood is a wonderful teacher, and person. She will take the time out of her day to make sure you understand. She is hilarious and makes the class worth-while. I would definitely suggest taking her! She's always there for you when you need help, which is what makes a great teacher.

Dr. Smith-Sherwood is HILARIOUS, one of the funniest people I've met. She also teaches very clearly and takes a genuine interest in the wellbeing of her students. She helps a lot and has a lot of experience under her belt, both as a Spanish speaker and as a professor. Take her, ESPECIALLY if the language intimidates you.

I absolutely love Dr. Smith-Sherwood. This class was so hard but she did what she could to help everyone and genuinely cares about all of her students. There is alot of work but she is very understanding if you say its too much. I wish I could have her for every Spanish class for the rest of my life.

Took her for a summer course and couldn't have asked for a better professor! She covered several chapters in a short amount of time but did it with such clarity! Highly recommend her! An Easy A for sure!

Comment:

Very sweet, funny woman. Class was pretty easy as long as you attended and followed along in the book. Quite a bit of group work, which can be worrisome (learning a foreign language from peers), but own style of teaching. Made me enjoy spanish again!

Comment:

Spanish 260 is an incredibly difficult class, but she was really nice and very helpful, and really tried to help you understand and keep up. I recommend taking her, cause if I took this class with anyone else, I probably would have failed, but I got a B overall.
