Honestly, Dr. Casale is a really great professor!! This is my second time registering for one of the classes that he teaches. He really is passionate about what he does and helps you learn! Really sweet guy and gives great feedback on papers. The only thing I'd say is that it takes him a while to respond to emails and doesn't put in the grade in.

You arent leaving early; he lectures until the last minute of class. It is worth it, though. You will learn a lot. In fact, it doesnt feel like almost three hours has gone by. You will leave class thinking about how you will use what you learned. He has a very calm demeanor- not boring, just relaxed. Take his class.

Very boring but an easy class. He will keep you until the very last minute and will even go over time talking. Easily gets frustrated if you ask too many questions also. Lots of papers not a lot of quizzes

Dr. Casale is one of the best professors Kean has to offer. He is extremely passionate about literature, very caring for his students, and will make you work for your grade. However, your hard work will never go unnoticed! Yes, his lectures are long and you need to read A LOT... but you will learn so much from him. Overall, I highly recommend him.

This Professor gives a lot of work in little notice he assigns a paper and expects it to be done a few days later when it is a paper about a book you have yet to finish. He takes a long time to grade as well. He funny and patient but has no sympathy at all for his students. He will shut you down when you want to speak your mind about work.

Dr. Casale is an intelligent, caring professor who loves literature. Attendance is mandatory, he lectures up until the last minute so no early dismissal. Beware - his monotone voice will put you asleep . He takes forever to grade the 3 - 4 papers assigned, some quizzes, heavy h/w readings, however he is one of the better professors at Kean!

Professor Casale is one of those professors that makes you feel cared for. His lectures are interesting and very informative. The class has lots of reading material, but if you like to read and write you will be fine. We read stories and watched videos. Participation is key. Several writing assignments (5-6 pages) nothing major. Very nice professor

Professor Casale was an awesome guy. He's really passionate about literature and I learned a lot. However, he's a tough grader. He takes for forever to give back your papers and quizzes so don't expect your paper for a good month. The last few weeks were rushed. We had 2 quizzes and 4 papers. Attendance matters so show up to class.

Ugh, this man. Passionate about literature, but he is SO BORING! Will not let you out early, EVER. Will keep teaching till the last minute. He expects you to know how to do a 'close reading' thats basically the format of his tests. Hated it, but i'd take him again just bc I already know how he operates. 3-4 papers, 2 tests, attendance mandatory.

Dr. Casale is very passionate, knowledgeable, and understanding. Some of the readings are dense and difficult to understand, but he breaks them down very nicely. Personally, I put a lot of effort into the class and I thought he was very fair. I feel lucky to have had him for Critical Approaches and I would definitely take him again.

Professor Casale is very knowledgeable and passionate about literature. There is no point in reading as he will go over the stories in class. I've learned a lot in his class. I would definitely take him again, if I was given the chance.

Dr. Casale is very passionate about literature and is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter. He is always available for clarification and takes the extra time to go up and beyond his duties. Sometimes his lectures can be a bit long and over taught, but he really wants his students to understand & to get something from his lectures.

If you can sit through this man's lectures and take your occasional notes, you'll be ok. It can get very boring though. Four quizzes with that awful Blue Book us English majors are accustomed to using (I call it the 'Hand Killer' lol), and Four papers (Poetry, Drama, Short Story, Novel). Overall, he's a great prof'. He knows his stuff.

Dr.Casale is extremely needy. I say this because he NEEDS you to read even though hes ALWAYS a day behind. He NEEDS you to participate and NEEDS you to be in attendance. Don't get me wrong, he's very passionate about the readings but it's a little overboard for a 2000 course. Two stories every night, between 2 and 4 papers and a final. Very helpful
