If you really want to learn and not just pass, Martin is your man. You'll learn a great deal as long as you put in the work. Students that don't want to put in work would rate him negative. One of the most knowledgable teacher I ever came accross.

Amazing professor! He is adorable and very funny, and makes the accounting interesting.I have no problem making it to his 9:00am class every time. The class and material require effort but are not difficult if you attend class and do the reading. There are no uncovered questions on the exam. I am taking a class with him next semester! Love him!

Definitely knows what he is talking about; he wrote the book! Doesn't go over much in class so you MUST read the book. Exams are not that bas as long as you do a decent amount of studying. And you have to do a paper which is 10% of your grade; it's pretty easy.

Awesome class, every class is devoted to working through the problems and answering questions. He is funny and personable. It's obvious that he is interested in, and very knowlegable about the subject. Even though attendance and homework weren't mandatiory I found myself going to almost every class.

Do not listen to the negavtive comments about him- they're probably all from idiots who didn't go to class or are just too stupid to be in college. Prof Martin is an AMAZING teacher. He is funny, a fair grader, and is straightforward. It's college- obviously you have to study and go to class and if you do you will get a great grade. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Dr. Martin expects you to learn all the material for yourself and gives you the tools to do so. His explanations of problems in class are the basis for all his exams. Attend every class, ask every question you can think of, and find a group to study with. If you pass his class, you'll be ready to tackle the real world of accounting. Great Prof!

By Junior year taking this class, you should have your study skills down. The structure of the class leaves you on your own and puts your study skills and motivation to the test. All that is required is that you take 3 exams, but they are tough. Keep up with the class and make sure you know what you are doing well ahead of the exam.

Great guy. Everything on the exam he goes over in class. Makes sure everyone understands what is going on before moving on. Gives random advice everyday that usually doesn't have much to do with accounting. I suggest taking this class but not Boyle for 202.

I really liked him he is a great prof. Attendance is not mandatory but he is really good with names and he will know you are not there. Also he has his students participate in class which make it go by a lot faster. I recommend his class very much:-)

Prof. Martin is so nice and extremely personable. His main concern is how everyone is doing in the class, and the only reason he calls on you is to see if you understand whats going on in class, he doesn't make you feel bad about not knowing the answer. Only 3 exams and a paper, he's a tough grader but if you study, you shouldn't have a problem.

Nice and friendly, but he has that annoying tendency to call on students at random. So it's a good idea to do the homework so you don't look like an idiot...because if you don't know the answer, he doesn't let you go easily. Exams aren't that bad, but he's not lenient. Not hard to get an A, though.

In class you will just go over homework problems. Every class is the same. Exams are pretty short, but not the easiest. The term paper was easy so don't stress; it was mostly charts and numbers taken from the web.

Bad teacher! Nice guy, but is a horrible grader. Simply does not teach the material. You are better off reading on your own. Class is a waste of time since all he does is go over the homework. you will never learn from your mistakes on homework. hes about 80years old and needs to retire!!Exams are extremely difficult, and he is a tough grader!Avoid

Comment:

I went to every class before the first exam then realized you could teach yourself easier by reading the book alone than going to class. Ended up with a B so cant complain. 10 Page paper takes about 2 hours and is all looking up charts and such online.
