Very straightforward. I won't say it's easy, but no curve-balls. Professor provides both in-depth lectures and super detailed textbook. The book is TOO detailed for me personally, meaning alot of reading. But the upside is that whichever learning style suits you (lecture vs book) is available. Just pick how you prefer to learn, or do both.

LOL!!! I love Karnopp. The funniest professor I have had. Very dry, hilarious sense of humor. Not crystal clear in his lectures, but pretty close. Tests are VERY FAIR and only on what he teaches. Labs using the Bond Graph software can get very time consuming, but I got luck with knowledgeable, computer savvy partners. Would definitely recommend.

He is a great lecturer, he loves what he do and that is teaching. The tests are fair but not so easy. You can't really pass this class without understanding the concept and so you better read.

I got my first A in an upper-division engineering class thanks to this guy. Lectures are very clear and his exams are fair because they're based mostly on the lectures rather than the text. Don't even bother buying the book, the lectures are all you really need.

Nice guy, ok teacher, he'll drink you under the table at Sudwerks, but why an entire class devoted to Bond Graphing. What a waste of money! Universities should not introduce "pet" projects of profs into the curriculum when they are not advanced enough. And, the tiny $100 book for the class... ah!
