I learned a lot from Mr. Nason. He taught me how to think more deeply and philosophically - he really makes you work for your grade ( this class is for those who honestly want to learn and achieve a better understanding of the world around them) I liked him so much that I'm taking another class with him next semester. Get ready to read.

Dean Nason is enthusiastic, charismatic, and overtly entertaining. Really intelligent teacher and not at all bad to look at. You need to read, go to class, and take notes. You won't pass without the latter 3.

I took Nason's SOC101 and liked it so much I took a second sociology course with him even though I didn't need it. His classes are information-intensive and the tests--which are nearly the entirety of your grade--require real understanding of the concepts he covers in lecture. Totally worth it, though. Amazing instructor and a great person.

A lot of people say that Nason's class is not passable. However, if you read your book (like you are supposed to anyway), take good notes, and study the study guides he gives you for tests you will be fine. Lectures are entertaining.

Mr. Nasom is the man flat out. I was at ECTC taking classes while still in the Army, he sparked my interest and now i am a sociology major at the University of Illinois. I want to do what Professor Nasom does for a living because his view and passion are inspiring. No student should attend ECTC without having a class with Professor Nasom.

Mr. Nason is an awesome teacher! He is very informative, the things that need to be explained he does thoroughly. I enjoyed this class immensely. If you come to class, take the notes, read the chapters and do the study guide there is no reason not to pass the class. He gives you everything that you need.

One of the most energetic teachers at ECTC, and probably the best I've had in four years of college education. He is very informative, and very intelligent in his field. You have to listen, and, come test time, follow the study guide. There is one paper, but the topic areas are so broad, that you can get away with writing about almost anything.

Great lectures, great entertainer, but there's no academic reason to attend class. I got 50s on his tests, until I met with him in his office multiple times (nice, understanding, helpful). He told me to memorize the terminology on flash cards, and after studying those for weeks, my test scores jumped into the 80s! Fun lectures, but book is REQUIRED

I LOVED Dean Nason. He was so enthusiastic about this class! He was loud, funny, and a great teacher! To pass you will need to read the text and take very detailed notes, but it is so worth it! Easily one of the best teachers I have ever encountered! He made lecture fun every single class meeting!

I had never had a sociology class before but this guy made sociology great! This class was my reason for getting up in the morning and coming to school. Not only did he make the topics interesting but did so in a entertaining way. NOTE: You must read your textbook and take very precise notes. Highly recommend him even if you don't need sociology!
