Very caring, willing to help you, but you must put in the study time and work if you want a good grade. Lots of information to process, but he gives excellent feedback and is willing to answer questions to clarify information to help his students. Extra credit points available on all tests. Drops lowest lab and test grade. Gives snacks with tests.

Don gives you a lab manual that is about 250 pages and includes literally everything you need to know for his class. The textbook is really unnecessary. The tests cover a ton of ground, but you are allowed an index card (or 2 or 3, depending on what test) which is a tremendous help. He is quite old, very friendly, and speaks quietly.

The class is super easy if you show up to lecture AND lab and if you just write down what he says in your notes there is no chance you wont pass. Lets you use a not card on all tests the final you get 4 note cards and the last exam is take home. He grades really weird taking away 1/8th of points but gives you every chance to an easy pass.

Don is an excellent instructor. If you attend his lectures, you'll do great. The people who struggled were the people who skipped class all the time, skipped labs, and ditched during breaks. He provides his lecture notes in PDF and it's like 300 pages. Print that off and you are set! He's old, speaks quietly, and has no time for slackers! Loved him

I taught myself almost everything I learned for this class. Miller literally just reads exactly what's in the lecture notes you have to print out each class. He ignores students with questions & speaks very slow & monotone. He throws in a lot of easy points in an attempt to make up for his poor teaching. You can pass, but don't expect it to be easy

Professor Miller is very knowledgable of what he is teaching. No power points but there are lecture notes to print out that he teaches off of. You're grade is up to how much studying and work you put in. I recommend taking Professor Miller he is easy to understand and is there to answer your questions in both the lab and lecture.

Don Miller is fantastic. He does tend to get a little monotone, but he provides you with more than enough resources to pass his tests. He really helps you get the concept rather than trying to memorize everything for the tests. Also, he lets you use notecards on the exams, so that's a plus!

Professor Miller is a sweet old man. Although it is about time for him to retire, I am glad I was able to have him as a teacher. He truly wants his students to pass the class and understand chemistry. Lectures were difficult, as he read DIRECTLY off the printed notes and does not get up from his chair much. Labs are neat. Difficult course.

He does not explain things at all. All he does is read exactly from the notes with no explanation or visual examples to help. This is my second time taking chemistry and I'm very upset I got him as a professor because if anything, I've learned less and it's even harder to understand.

The first class I was intimidated. You will do a lot of work! I have a visual impairment and he's the ONLY professor who did all my accommodations, and never forgot. He even handed me my papers himself because he laid the class work on a table with the names on it and it's hard for me to find mine. For the class he grades extremely fair.

Don was a pretty good teacher, he gives you a lot of chances to do well even if you're not good at chemistry. Although, you have to really try and work hard. I missed 2 days of class from being sick and missed over 100 pages of notes and material. DO NOT MISS CLASS

Professor Miller is awesome! I really wish he taught more chemistry classes, I was upset when class actually ended. I changed my major to Chemistry because he made me love it so much! You should definitely record his lectures - it is a lot of information. And sitting up front is also a must. You cannot miss even one day of class. Take him!

Awesome teacher! He really knows what he is talking about, and is very fair. He wants everyone to pass, and answers questions and emails promptly. Very good at returning tests grades, but his grading system is impossible to understand! Cookies at tests... Bonus! And he jokes sometimes...

Very good teacher. I cam into his classes two weeks late after transferring from a poor teacher and picked up right away. As they say he can drag a little and give you the Zzz'z sometimes, but you are chemistry. Overall he grades fairly, is very helpful always and likes what he is doing and always has stories that match the subject matter.

Chem 105 is challenging, but record his lectures, sit up front so you can hear him, and Prof Miller will tell you everything you need to know to ace his class. Be prepared to study approx 10 hours a week though. The class is just challenging if you have never had chemistry. Prof Miller wants everyone to succeed, and gladly answers questions.

GREAT teacher yes it is hard though however you'll NEED to sit up front to hear him. I would love to take another class with him if I was a healthscience major. Recently changed to accounting for other reasons. Last exam is a take home :-) Passed with a B

He is very knowledgeable on the subject but it is near next to impossible to sit and listen to him lecture because he is so incredibly boring. I will hand it to him that he grades very fair and if you do less than stellar on the tests you can still get a good grade in the class. He also allows the final to replace exams if you get a higher score.

Took him Spring 2012. Make sure to sit up front as he is sometimes difficult to hear. He will always be willing to help out when asked. Good professor - a lot of experience in the subject. Just pay attention, study for the exams, and take advantage of the crib cards he lets you use and you'll pass.

I was in his Summer class. Due to a family emergency we were a few weeks behind. Class was very difficult but that was due to content and lack of time. Mr. Miller is a very good teacher. Yes, his voice is monotone but he jokes, and is very fair. He gives chances for extra credit and chances to raise your grade often. And he gives cookies at tests.
