Insists on just using email instead of the online tools foothill setup. Does not return graded assignments. zero feedback. I kept getting emails for his other class which was confusing. Basically it was 100% self taught, I didn't learn a thing from the teacher.

Great teacher. Take him only if (a) you're self-directed (b) actually want to learn the content (c) can easily discern a typo and get passed it (he makes typos sometimes, but it's not that big a deal). Easy, VERY generous grader, answers questions if/when you ask, just ask well before the thing is due.

Unix account required for course, provided at no extra cost. After two weeks of class and first test, still was not provided a Unix account. Tarver showed absolutely no concern whatsoever and would not extend test time. This instructor is definitely not concerned about his students!

very good lecture - clear, compliments the text well. very communicative/available. online class didnt work for me personally. also i found the use of different unix flavors between fh lab/text/lecture hard to deal with. not good for an intro class imho.
