Comment:
Professor does not receive enough credit for how intelligent he is. Many people see him as "odd" for his sense of humor and the fact that he often goes off on a tangent. However, Professor Clinton has a brilliant mind that deserves to be recognized. Not only is he brilliant but he also exemplifies great character. I am glad I took his class.

The class mostly revolves around reading articles, and discussing them in class. The class has a midterm paper, a final paper, and 3 team based assignments. There is no reason to get below a B in his class. Clinton is very helpful when you go to his office, and will support you with valuable information about the CMA exam, and studying. He's Great

I've had to learn calculus from a teacher who could barely grasp English, Clinton is less effective than that teacher. He has had to redistribute his syllabus 4 times now because of major errors, and I doubt that's over. He is not a tough grader, but his take home tests require the better part of a weekend to complete. Avoid this guy.

Worst professor I've ever had. He may have knowledge but he is not good at teaching or explaining. Makes mistakes DAILY when explaining or going over problems on the board. Unable to answer simple questions. Grade based almost entirely on 3 exams and is a tough grader. REFUSAL TO CURVE although class average is a low C.

No book. Team project work consists of research. He gave our class a bunch of good research sites to leverage. Lots of real-world examples to get us used to thinking about costs and managerial accounting. Get ready to write a bunch. He is more of an academic, but a good dude nonetheless.

He does not know how to teach, he always told "jokes" he thought funny in class, but they were just a waste of time and boring. He sometimes even made himself confused in class and we had to correct him... Do not take this class!

1) Wait til Blackboard posts the material. 2) Dr. Clinton will spill all the assignments a week or two before the course starts. Noodle the options for the midterms and finals and get ready to write. 3) Get ahead of the stuff. 4) Before class, read ALL the articles as he specifies and review the slides 5) No textbook. awesome.

Prof Clinton is an incredibly intelligent person, and I think that makes things hard for some students to understand. He gives ample material to help people understand. Do not take his class if you're lazy. If you do the assigned reading and homework you'll get an A.

DO NOT TAKE! You learn nothing. No proper guidance on problems or if you're doing it right. Sometimes post incorrect answers/methodology to problems or doesn't post at all. Goes off topic or loses train of thought. Only 3 exams and quizzes (335pts) though no cumulative final. Not helpful when you go in for help. Poor textbook choice.

Inconsistent grader, does not explain why points were removed on papers when asked to discuss. Goes on tangents unrelated to class, easy class but be sure you ask him exactly what he is grading on. Make sure you verify the topics on the mid-term and final exam before writing.

I do not recommend taking him at all. Goes over articles the entire class period which is pretty boring. He never is clear when he gives assignments about what he expects from you. Horrible teacher, I wish I never took his class. Avoid at all cost

Very knowledgeable on accounting but is not a good teacher. He’s unable to engage the class and blames powerpoint instead of his teaching style. He’s too high level in that he glosses over accounting topics, but you don’t really dive into the details to truly understand it. Class was very easy and if you have a pulse then you will get a good grade

In honesty got an A when I thought I did not deserve one. Confusing teacher though knolageable about his field has a hard tiem bringing it down to non accounting level. Pretty easy essay (x4) based tests not a geat deal of work compared to other classes I'v taken at NIU, wish I had paire it with another clas but it was my first phase 2.

All he does is go over homework problems during class. Useless powerpoints. Grade is based on 3 tests and 3 5-point assignments which are toughly graded. Isn't clear about rounding policy. Take another teacher if you can.

Very interesting and cool guy but one of the worst teachers. Love's to say "well it depends" for every question. Class was literally just 3 tests and he always said he'd look for the natural grade distribution for some sort of curve at the end. I'd definitely suggest taking another teacher if available.

Terrible! One of the worst professors I ever had, doesn't explain material at all. Goes off random tangents that make no sense. Grading is bad too, I had an A at the end of the semester until he added his participation points, even though I went everyday and answered questions I dropped to a C. Avoid at all costs

passionate abt accy. wants you to understand management accounting & how to make it relevant as business leaders. BUT mumbles, concepts are high level, you get 50 page docs to read that are too detailed/intense for non-accy majors. Sympathetic to your plight, will take time for you to answer questions, bad jokes, makes you want to kill accountants.

Nice guy but not the best teacher. He seems to teach and leacture from a different book than used by the students. Overall grade is made up of almost all exams. If you arent a great test taker enroll with anoher professor.

Thought the class was pretty tough. He does problems on the board but doesn't explain them. Used powerpoint slides from a different book that didn't go along with our chapters. No homework, just 2 excel assignments and 3 exams that make up your grade. No comprehensive final though
