Professor Steigmann-Gall was probably the best professor I've had at KSU yet. The weekly chapter assignments are challenging and I had to pull several all-nighters to get them done, but his lectures are phenomenal and entertaining. Also, he goes out of his way to help you succeed in his class and is extremely nice and helpful outside of class also.

He is easily my favorite professor Ive had! He makes you think about the topics at hand and will give you time to ask questions if you have them. I took him for modern history which is lecture class still took the time to get to know everyone. But be ready to read the textbook, have weekly writing assignments and NOT miss any classes.

You will have to work for a grade in his classes, but I'm paying $20,000 to learn, so I appreciate that he pushes his students to. For his Modern History class, focus on the highlighted terms in the book while reading the chapter (maybe make flashcards) and the quiz topics won't seem so nit-picked anymore. He's the best history prof. IMO.

He's probably the best professor I had. I had him for Modern history my freshman year, and went out of my way to take one of his classes again as soon as I saw it as an option. He assigns a fair amount of work, but he's also a COLLEGE professor, so what do you really expect? He keeps class interesting, and really cares that you learn and retain.

dude i know hes about to read this so whats up Richard. you have made my life hell, and you dont even know it. The nights i spent reading your chapters, just for you to pull the slightest detail out of the corner and trick me into a 3/10 on the weekly test. Youre a tricky one. Lets his TA, BIG MIKE do all the work. Mike is the real GOAT.

Dr. Steigmann-Gall's lectures are informative, very entertaining, and sometimes even moving. Expect a challenge - there are three papers - but it'll be worth it.

I took his 20th Century Europe class. I had a history minor at the time, and it's a topic that is still incredibly interesting to me. That being said, he expected you to read between two and four chapters a week for the weekly quiz (on top of excessive readings for other classes) and is an insanely tough grader. On top of that, no study guides!

This man is a mensch. If you pay attention and are active within the lectures, youll have a stellar understanding of he subject material. Dr. SG is open to new ideas and spirited discussion of differing view points as long as they are presented orderly and well-thought out. Possibly my favorite professor Ive ever met.

You will be required to read in the textbook every week and take quizzes on the reading. The quizzes are 10 points each and are one question regarding a single random term from the reading. He is a good lecturer and makes things interesting, but he grades really toughly. Be prepared to put a lot of time into studying for this class.

Best professor I have ever had in the last three years I have been at Kent. His lectures make you extremely interested in the classes subject. He has inspired me to take a great interest in German History. I would recommend anyone who is a student at KSU and especially a history major to take a course with him.

Rarely boring. Maybe too invested in being a cool young professor, but gives serious feedback when said and done. He took us girls seriously which isn't something you can take for granted. Same time was too forward, felt uncomfortable as usual. Otherwise though the class benefited from being so informal

The class was fantastic. Steigmann is a wonderful professor that really knows the information he is teaching. Lectures are interesting and he is a very engaging lecturer. Grade was comprised of blue book exams, a research paper, and in class discussion. Exams were difficult but doable.

Fantastic professor with interesting lectures and very funny. The only issue is his attendance policy, which was why I failed his class. Reading is necessary for passing quizzes although the exams are easy enough with just class notes.

Hes the best history professor I have ever had and I will take him again. Hes very intelligent in his field and is easy to get to know and get in connect with. His classes are pretty straightforward, notes on mondays, quizzes and discussion the last day of the week. Do the work and befriend him in office hours, you'll do great!
