I think he is a great teacher. I feel like I learned a lot in his class. Seriously if you do the work its not hard to get a good grade. Just take the time to do the projects with the book, go to all the classes, and study a little.

If you study the quizzes, watch the videos and read the news articles you will be fine. The exams are all the same format and the research paper was very easy. However, some of the questions on the tests are unfair. He asks specifics from the movies that you wouldnt remember even if you took good notes. Besides that it was an easy but boring class.

The first test was a complete fail because no1 realized how much was gonna be on there. not too recommended. took him twice in a row because his first class was interesting.. thought to take him again but it was a failure because he has his specialties and this deviance class wasn't it. doesn't really know his students nor care too much, try to avoid

He is an awful teacher, he's not helpful at all and what he decides to teach you is boring as hell...any terms that you learn in his class you can use in other soc classes. tests are impossible because what is on the study guide is not on the tests and if you miss one word like 'the' the entire answer is wrong! do not take him at all!!!

he really tries to make the class interesting for being 8am. His humor is corny but you will notice yourself laughing every now and then. He gives out a lot of handouts which are used on the tests and his group projects are also on the test. You need to know a lot of information for his class but overall he is a good professor

i absolutely love mcdowell. he is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience in his field. the videos are amazing. he is very helpful to his students and very passionate about the subject matter. only bad thing is that he teaches very early. i would love to take more classes with him.
