Smart guy but he makes it fairly obvious that he doesn't like teaching. The final exam was nothing but curveball questions. It's like he wanted us to do poorly on it. The class is also horribly disogranized. If you want to learn anything, you'll have to teach yourself out of the book. The book is the only good thing in this class.

He doesn't teach and is barely on campus. Assigns all the hard questions from the book like a bunch of 4 x 4 matrix crap and then says study that for the test. He blows through everything saying its all elementary. You have to take him for 491/591 for the grad school. Just hope for a better micro and macro teacher in spring. Doesn't get much worse.

Not happy with this teacher, but a smart professor. Not very helpful but there is a T.A. Doesn't follow the homework assigned making things confusing to learn from. Do not recommend if you are not an Econ major.

katz is too brilliant to be at niu. to do well on the course, attend all classes, make good notes, know the lectures inside out before exam. some questions are on exam are exactly from lectures.

Nice guy. Semi good professor. He simplifies things so that you can understand the concept, but does not answer the hard questions at the back of the book. Exams are a nightmare. First one is really hard because you have no idea what to study for. Last two are better. Know everything from your former Micro & Macro courses (360 & 361)!!!
