One of the best com teachers I've ever had. I hate it with a burins passion but I actually liked this class because of him. Very straight forward and funny. Open to questions and gives amazing feedback on papers.

I took Prof. Devillez on Fall of 2019, he is a great speaker, you will not be bored in his class. He gives great feedback, is very friendly and most importantly he is available outside of the class, ready to help you with your papers! He actually cares about his students and he gives us a lot of flexibility to write papers that actually interest us

Cannot say enough good things. He grades according to how much effort you put in and to your personal academic level. At first, that upset me. I felt I did better than other mates and got lower grades but that's what makes him an above & beyond teacher. He takes the time to teach and push you at any level without judgement; my best lesson learned.

Answers questions with questions. only 4 total papers and you have a decent amount of time to do each. Participation is very important. will easily lose 100 points if you don't. Super nice. If you don't do the work you won't pass. make sure you stay on top if things and your grade will be fine!

DeVillez is one of the most understanding professors you will ever meet. As long as you do what is asked of the class you will be fine. Ended the class with a high A and all I had to do was actually put thought into the assignments. Its not a blow over class, but just actually putting thought will easily get you that A.

READ THIS BEFORE TAKING HIS CLASS. There is only 1 major assignment/essay he makes you do for COM 102 and he grades it VERY STRICTLY. Most of the class ended up with B's and bad scores on even the presentation. Your grade will depend on basically 1 essay and there's not even a final. I recommend to not take; makes honors COM 102 harder than needed

a good teacher, funny easy to talk to, some downfalls is he answers your question with a question which can become confusing and his choice of topics on papers is somewhat frustrating, overall the class is enjoyable and he makes it clear what he wants & does provide good feedback & is available outside of class.

DeVillez is not necessarily a bad guy, he is very funny and engaging, but he makes it a Herculean task to get an A on even just one paper. I only got an A on one paper and that was because I focused all of my energy on it, which is not good because I am an extremely busy person inside/outside of school. TOUGH GRADER, dont take if you want an A

He is the type of teacher that challenges a student to their fullest potential, very inspirational, poetic and cool guy to talk to. He makes himself available to always help someone out. And he has a cool beard. The papers required for his class aren't necessarily hard, just thought provoking, which is his job, but he does it with humor.

Eric was a great professor, especially for teaching COM101, which is an introductory class, as well as a mandatory class. He gives feedback to your writings, unlike some professors who will just mark up your paper with no reasoning behind it. He helps you grow as a student and as a writer. His class has helped me in many of my other classes!

Best teacher ever!! good at helping students individually and giving them feedback that really helps to improve your writing. Focuses more on the content of your writing rather than pointless assignments.
