Not bad at first, but if someone upset her at all that day, she would have an attitude with everyone, even one on one. Eventually was uncomfortable asking her anything. Sometimes a little hard to understand with her accent, and her lectures got really boring at times. Lot of group work in class and assignments, but not too bad. Offered extra credit

Not a good teacher at all. Her directions were very unclear. Meeting with her and asking for help is pretty much useless. Follow the confusing rubrics carefully. Be prepared to hate the unit plan and the peopleyou work with because it will suck the life out of you. But really just be prepared to be frustrated.

Shin has a heavy accent so if you have problems understanding what she's saying just ask her to repeat/clarify herself. Ask a lot of questions and make sure you really understand that assignments. Constantly check to make sure you are doing things properly and you'll do well in the class.

She is a nice lady, however she is very unclear when giving directions for projects or clinical assignments. When a class member asked a question about an assignment, Shin got mand and claimed the student was being unprofessional. She gives reading guides for every chapter you read in class are we in college or high school? Good Luck with this one.

Recommendation: Read rubrics VERY closely and choose good group members, especially for unit project!! I felt as much as she tried to clarify, her basic understanding of teaching was flawed. Her focus was on all the insignificant details and not on the concrete methods one can use to teach social studies well.

This teacher was an excellent example of what NOT to do when teaching. Take her if you want to never know what to do on your clinical assignments. I would recommend her if you want to do poorly in her class because she is NO HELP WHAT SO EVER! Waste of a Thursday morning!

If you professionally present yourself in a respectable way to meet with her, preparing notes and comments...she'll talk over you or ignore you. Get angry and scream until you are blue in the face trying to defend your ideas, she'll talk over you or ignore you. You do not exist, it is her way. She may seem nice, but will make you cry.

Ugh!!!!!! This class makes thursday mornings very difficult. She is a nice person, but it is so hard to understand her when she is trying to teach. I have learned more from my own history experiences then her teaching.

She's a crazy little Korean woman who explains nothing and just manages to piss you off very easily. She seems really nice at first, but she turns very crazy very quickly. Avoid taking her classes if possible.

This was the biggest waste of time class EVER! Social studies is my passion and I recieved no new ideas or methods to use. She is stubborn and picky. Gives the illusion that you can alter your grade on assignments by justifying them. Class activities are worthless, and assignments are pointless. Avoid this teacher at all costs, it will be worth it

The language barrier ruined the whole experience. I was excited to take this class and I left not learning anything. I too, feel cheated in my education. She tried to be nice, but would soon get frustrated by not getting her point across; the class was a waste. Pick another teacher if possible.

the worst experience of my 2nd professional semester - she is unclear, there's a HUGE language barrier, & she can't teach. she did not teach a single thing about S.S. methods in our course. i was cheated having her as a teacher, and even talking to the dept. head about her instruction did no good!

I felt that Ms. Shin sicerely cared about her students, moreover she is a passionate instructor. Her knowledge of the Korean system is a great asset because of the enlightening extra perspective that brings to her class. She is quite good.
