I loved Frank Fox. He knows so much about American History. I took History of San Francisco with him and I am just amazed at his level of interet and the depth he shares with us about thigns. His tests are extremely hard, lots of essays, and you have to know your stuff, but I learned a ton!

I got my Masters in Accounting and took the hardest classes at the University; Dr. Fox's class was up there too. Despite dificulty, He is the best professor @ the university. Extremely challenging, but the is a well of knowledge. He just retired and may be coming back to teach a class here and there. If you get a chance to take him jump at it.

Dr. Fox is a really hard teacher, and has the hardest tests I have had in college. I found that no matter how hard I studied for the tests, I would still fail them. This class is a GE so don't kill yourself trying to get an A, because you won't.

I loved his class because he didn't want you to just learn the facts, but actually understand the concepts. Only take his class if you are willing to work hard. His tests are challenging if you don't study and don't really try to understand what he taught you in class. Also he's very helpful, you just have to be willing to ask and learn.

I LOVED the lectures, but had such a hard time with the exams. I'm a junior and have gotten straight A's since high school, but got a 67 on the first test! You have to think the same way he does to score well on exams, and I definitely was offended by some things he said in class...

Excellent teacher, i learned a lot in his class and loved his lectures. anyone who says his tests are impossible and that you have to read his mind didnt read the book. You do need to study hard but they are fairly straightforward if you do.

You guys are nuts to think he's arrogant. He just has high-level knowledge and a tremendous grasp of the subject, including AmHer. Fox said some things that changed my life; he is one of the most moral men I have ever known. Tape SF Class, then listen to the notes again during study--got a 99.5%!

Dr. Fox is an interesting teacher. His media clips and concepts are fascinating. The book is pretty good, but it takes a long time to read. His tests are hard, but are possible. Go to lab and ask questions. Just enjoy the class- it really teaches some great things.

I hated this class with a passion. He's a self-centered, uncaring jerk! The only lecture that i really enjoyed was the last one: when it was OVER! You think that the tests can't be as bad as everyone says and then you realize that you just failed! Luckily, my section was confused as i was.

Excellent class. Don't skip the last lecture just because you can. It was outstanding. A lot of work but would do it again. Who cares if you have a great TA or not, because you are graded on a curve only with other people with that same TA.

History of Pop Culture - sounds like a cool class, but it wasn't. Tremendous amount of worthless reading, videoes, tapes, daily quizzes. Some interesting lectures. Must have designed this class in the 80's and not updated. He's arrogant and annoying.

Very hard class. It helps to get a good TA because he's not much help. His lectures are very interesting, but he comes off as a very demanding guy and a very dictating figure. I do not recommend him at all.

Hardest class on earth. I hated it. Dont take it. All the test is about is remote details never mentioned. Lectures are 100% his point of view. No comments, no thinking, spoonfed education. Horrible.
