Comment:

His test are not hard. They are only hard if you do not study. His involving students in lectures and his entertaining jokes make the class a joy to sit through. He reminds me of a person I knew who gave me a lot of knowledge by the name of Joseph Edward Timothy Fahy!

Comment:

Max rocks! Be ready to be called on, to study for hard tests, but also REALLY learn the information and feel smart after class. He is a great teacher and his tests are hard but if you put in the work you will be alright. Wording is tricky but it makes you think in a way of comprehending all of the information. I would highly recommend to everyone.

This is one of the most challenging classes I have ever taken. As a professor he is really good. He likes to call on names in class. His tests are really hard so go to class, thoroughly read the chapters, and make a good cheat sheet. He curves the final grade very generously.

Max is a really great guy outside of class, but his class is pretty difficult. He doesn't go over much of the material in class and it's your job to learn the rest of the material out of the textbook. He takes pride in his texts being hard, but luckily you get a cheat sheet and he curves.

If you actually want to learn about abnormal psychology thoroughly take it with Max! The class is VERY difficult but also very rewarding when you do well. Max is an awesome professor. Very organized and funny. Definitely one of my favorites in the Psychology department.

One of my favorite classes by far at Western. Max is hilarious and a great teacher, but if you don't like talking in class or being called on, you may not want to take this class from him. I myself found his interaction with the class entertaining and very helpful.

He DOES NOT know his stuff. He IS NOT helpful, and he IS NOT a good teacher.I have no idea who these fans of his are but I came into his office hrs twice because of appallingly low exam scores and even though I knew the material well and took his "advice" for the next exam I still got low grades because he screws with you on the tests.

Hilarious deadpan comedy that you learn from. That's pretty much the description of the whole class. He'll joke with students and pick on a few. For the really hard tests: Read the book - STUDY the lecture notes. Always go to class. Eat a good breakfast, stress a little (but not too much), pay attention and make a notecard - you will do just fine.

He is really sweet and really cares for his students. Be prepared for the exams though, go over material over and over. Taking notes in class is a must. He allows 1 sheet of notes front&back for each exam. Even if you do poorly, he curves the grade so it's not too bad. Loved the drug references and interesting articles.

Max is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He makes class enjoyable and gets to know a bunch of the students. His tests are hard and most of it is from the lecture but he grades on a sympathetic curve. Also, he likes to call on random people, so pay attention!

Max was an awesome teacher. His class was one of my favorite classes so far at Western and by far my favorite this past quarter. The book wasn't too hard to read and I would definitely recommend doing the reading before the tests. His class is very enjoyable, and he gets to know all his students. I definitely recommend his class!

Professor Lewis is amazing! I loved his class and would definitely recommend it! His tests are a little hard and he doesn't provide a study guide, but going to class and reading up on the text will help you out. He is hilarious and always keeps the class interesting! I would for sure recommend him! Great teacher!

Abnormal Psychology with Professor Lewis was one of best classes I've had at Western. I learned more in this class than any other, mostly because he made us wear nametags and singled us out for questions. Definitely keeps you on your feet. He was also very helpful when I didn't understand or remember some of the concepts during tests. Funny man!

Seriously one of my favorite professors ever. Really funny, very clearly explains things. Makes the class feel less generic and much more personal - memorized my name within two days. Tests are HARD, reading the textbook is a must. Be good at "the most correct answer," since oftentimes there's more than one.

Max is funny and a great professor. He makes everyone in the class wear nametags. He calls you out in class which sucks. His tests are ridiculously hard. Not good for a "filler" class. Find something else less difficult!

Great prof. Very funny and gets everyone involved. He was extremely helpful and flexible when I had to miss a midterm for a conference. Honestly though, the tests were hard. I came out of every one feeling like I aced it, only to find that I got a B or C. And this is my major?it comes pretty naturally to me. Idk. Study harder than usual, I guess!

Very funny and nice man. His lectures fluctuate between interesting and dry. The tests are hard...and it's choose the BEST answer cause there will sometimes be more than one right answer. Very generous curve though, he knows his tests are hard.
