Great class, great Professor. Greene is very knowledgeable about contemporary memoir and supportive. She truly cares for her students and provides positive feedback to students on their work.

I loved Professor Greene. I felt like the class really wasn't all that much work, but I learned to appreciate Shakespeare a lot more. (Elizabethan Shakespeare was the class.) There were a few essays, and if you are a follow-the-syllabus kind of person, she does change it often, but she lets you know. She's very willing to cover confusing sections.

She knows Shakespeare very well, and I feel like I know Shakespeare much better for having taken her class. I would even take another of her classes!

I had Prof. Green for Core III, Memoir, and Shakespeare, among others. I love her. She is, hands down, the best professor I've had in my entire college career. She is willing to meet with students outside of class frequently and really takes an interest in our lives. She is knowledgeable and passionate about everything she teaches. Wonderful.

Comment:
I took the Sleep class last semester. Prof Greene assigned an absurd amount of reading, and at some point a few weeks in I chose to sleep instead of reading about it. She graded papers harshly, and had definite favorites. She didn't know very much on the subject, and the course was disorganized but she knows Shakespeare very well.

Greene is always in space, she expects a ton of reading to get done but doesn't do a good job talking about it, VERY hard grader on essays... the reading for the class is so interesting but I would not recommend her as a professor.

Greene's Core 3 class is amazing. If you are considering taking it, do so! From what I've heard, few people enjoyed Core 3 except the people in this class. She is a demanding grader, but a very nice person who is open to different opinions.

she's just terrible. expects too much in too little time. it's impractical and absolutely pointless to take this class unless you are an english or psych major. do NOT take this class if you are a pomona or mudd student!!!!

Lots of writing, but the class was good. Prof. Greene wasn't too helpful in critique, but she leads a good discussion and the student critique is good. She's laid back and the class was fun.

Greene is absolutely marvelous. I've taken 6 of her classes and loved every one. She is clear, direct, well organized, and very open to student opinions. She demands clarity in written essays and is open to a different opinion from her own so long as it's well supported.

It's been some time since I was enrolled in Gayle Greene's class, but it was one of the best I've ever taken. Students in search of an easy A should stay clear (those in my class whined and whinged continually).

No analyzation of the plays took place. she rambled on without saying anything. she's very biased. if you love shakespeare, she probably won't change that, but don't take this class hoping to be enlightened or inspired. assignments were ridiculous, mostly based on movies. 9 hours of watching hamlet!

Class: Post-War to Post-Feminism. I don't care how disorganized she was, her class CHANGED MY LIFE and helped me put a name to what I'd always been: a feminist! Readings amazing, she's laidback during class, discussions highly encouraged, and there was a pizza party at the end. Take this class!

Not only does she start a discussion then veer off it for ten minutes by herself, but when we comment on the passages she starts moving off to, she refuses to listen and puts us off to return to her original point. PLUS she expects the class to meet (and stay longer) when she is absent for homework!

Greene is the worst professor I've ever had! She is disorganized. She isn't interested in TEACHING any students anything but in reaffirming her position. Writing/Speaking against her will be docked points (on an essay) or berated. All assignment are on MOVIES not actual plays - no literary depth.

Insanely disorganized and never had control of the class. She wasted class time and made us make it up for four hours on a reading day. The class readings are interesting, but the discussions are unfocused. Also, on papers, just regurgitate what she says in class. Originality is graded down.
