One of the nicest professors in the School of Ed! Goes out of his way to get to know students and is very approachable. Makes info easy to understand and chooses great TAs. Loved this intro class.

Comment:

Professor Neal is very nice, very helpful, and really cares about the students. The resources he uses such as his Blackboard are confusing because he piles too much onto them. It is not clear what or how to turn in when, but if you ask for help you'll get it immediately. A class you have to take and one that you'll get through easily.

He is a God. So helpful, so motivational, always nice. Just an all around awesome guy. Words can't express how amazing of a teacher he is. TAKE HIS CLASS!!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT! I got over 100% in this class!

The Jedi master of the SOE. He is great and does care. Someone said we should see if he remembers us after a semester and I can honestly say that if you really care about being a great teacher, then he remembers who you are.

Best class I've ever taken. I wasn't even considering teaching, but after taking this class, I changed my mind. Always calm and uses awesome teaching techniques that are incredibly effective. Always has incredibly competent speakers come in and lecture. If you fail this class, you basically fail at life. You have to TRY to fail

nice guy. class is also taught by a gta and some other professors and teachers from the community. class is interesting, even if you later decide not to teach. the class is confusing at times, but hang in there. it's an easy a.

The blackboard site is very important to doing well in the class, but it is really confusing. What is said in class is often different than what the site says (like different due dates for assignments). It's easy to get an A, but if you want to be a teacher, do more than what you have to do! Take advantage of the many opportunities he gives you.

To be completely honest, Mike Neal is a nice guy. He'll take the time to learn your name and your hometown and maybe a few things about you to make you feel like he cares about your future and wants to invest his time into your future. However, he is a judgemental, condescending, arrogant know-it-all. This class would have been better without him.

Loved this class. I got to know Dr. Neal on a personal basis, and I believe that he would jump in front of a bus for me or any of his students. Enjoy the class, get involved, and you will get more out of the class than if you sit in the back like a wall flower. Plus it will help when trying to get accepted into the SOE.

Dr. Neal is an awesome teacher. He truly cares about his students. Every class was important and real. He's a very honest and true to heart teacher. He's personal with all students and made me feel important as an individual rather than another faceless student. This class is great for everyone, including those who aren't interested in teaching.
