Dr. Baten is a professor that is highly intelligent and means well. You will learn a lot, however he is not clear with what he expects from you. He is vague with his exam reviews and group project expectations (which makes up your entire grade). Wasn't worth it. Avoid at all costs.

Comment:
Professor Baten is very intelligent and often disrespectful. His grading methods are inconsistent and based on whether he likes the student and class. He has quite a lot of valuable insights regarding business and life in general, but this is not helpful to passing the class. Expect to work very hard for little reward. Threshold Guardian: level 99

Dr. Baten is a great guy. Hardest professor I had at Central in my four years but I learned a lot. He is very insightful from his work experiences. His quiz questions are taken right out of the book in the chapter review you just don't know which ones. Overall, I would suggest taking him but I wouldn't take again.

Overall he is a great guy. Although, rants about himself a little too often and wants you to answer the test/ quiz questions to his liking. Must read all the chapters since this is where all the material is from. Very intelligent professor but also very tough.

He was not as bad as most of these reviews say. Two exams and one big group project that takes up the whole second half of the semester which isn't that bad if you paid attention for the first half of the semester. He is a nice guy but isn't exactly always helpful. Although I got an A in the class, I would never take him again.

He is a nice guy but tells you to not memorize information but expects you to know the information which of course involves memorizing. The midterm and final are almost your entire grade along with the project. The project is not hard just pay attention to the first 6 chapters and you will do fine. His midterm is impossible. Almost everyone fails.

Prof Baten wanted to be helpful, but he just wasn't. He was nice, but nice isn't going to help you learn. He meanders off-topic in his lectures, explains poorly, and is very inconsistent about grading (and don't even bother asking about what he wants. You'll get no straight answer). Assignments are few, but that just means each grades means more.

Dr. Baten isn't really as bad as some of the reviews here say he is. There was just one homework assignment were we did a mission statement. Also, the project wasn't hard there was just some typing about what we learned in class mostly matrixes about a company that the group chooses. A Midterm and Final exam. Take him if you have the chance.

This is a very boring class. He does not get straight to the point and tends to over elaborate on every subject. This class is not worth your money. Exams are not very clear and he is not an easy grader.

Baten is an interesting guy. He has no structure in how he does grading, it's really subjective and that can be really frustrating. He wants people to do well, and gives away a lot of free points, just make sure you participate. 1 exam, 1 presentation for the most part. He's really smart, just not really the best teacher, not bad, just not good.

Comment:
Baten loves to teach but also to talk about himself. The quizzes are from the book, so read. The final was a case study, which was tough because we never did a real, indebt case study. He talks a lot about off topic stuff. Very smart, but learn the subjects on your own. Write to his own liking or won't do well and use the book a lot.

Comment:
Professor Baten is unorthodox, especially when it comes to the exams. But he's a great teacher. The capstone project is manual and not computer simulations, which is actually very helpful in learning the material but also getting a real taste in maneuvering and figuring out how to work on a group project that required lots of time and cooperation.

Attendance is key! Be sure to read the chapter and study the review questions at the end of the chapter for they are ESSENTIAL for the quizzes. Be sure to participate and you will have no problem and show up to class. He loves helping out if there are any issues and is readily available. Fair grader and engages class in discussion. He does not lecture, use Power Points, or the board. Instead, he engages the class in discussion, which I find very effective. He's a very nice guy, but he definitely doesn't take any complaining from students and will tell you what he thinks flat out. I would suggest taking him for 295 or 480.

Great professor. Calls on people during class but usually not uncomfortably. Do the readings and take notes. Tests are pretty hard considering he gives them on like 6 chapters and tells you to know the chapters. Studied hard and got a B.

Great guy, very easy to talk to and office hours are always helpful. Gene really wants his students to do well. Most helpful teacher I've had at CCSU so far. He has no problem answering class questions or just shooting the breeze. Very down to earth, for someone of his accomplishments. Do yourself a favor and take his class.

Great professor to teach the business capstone course. He may seem difficult at first, but just pay attention to his lectures. There are two exams and one huge group project. He may criticize your group project, but don't take it personally. He is a very fair grader. Don't challenge anything he says either, he knows way too much!

this guy is the one that does not use the simulation. do not take him. he makes you do a 45 minute presentation which is very complicated. hard grader and is very vague on test questions. does not give homework but expects you to read each chapter. tests are hard. stay away if u want to keep your grade up.
