Carney's lectures are confusing nonsense. He sounds like some obscure motivational speaker who desperately wants you to buy his book. There are slivers of factual information in his lectures, but he buries them under ENDLESS rambling that you will not understand. I have never met a less competent educator than Dr. Carney. Easy to BS assignments tho

Cares about his students. Wants you to do well and provides the grade for it. Over all, if you like the topic, one of the best professor on campus and the most sensitive to students feelings for a world religions professor i could imagine.

He is not a good teacher at all. How did this man get tenured? Instead of giving his students a survey of all world religions he preaches Buddhism and Hinduism with almost missionary zeal. His writing is illegible and his lectures are confusing.

Carney is an easy teacher. Due dates are non-existence. Classes are boring. You will not know your grade until after exams, but you'd be a fool to get less than a B. Take if you want an easy grade. Be prepared to take a Redbull before each class to help stave of sleep.

Really nice guy. Good teacher, knows his stuff for relegion and Western Culture. His only problem is that he tends to drone on, gets a little boring. But its hard for me to say that because he is such a nice guy. Easy class for begginers, I highly reccomend this professor.

this guy is clueless. easy enough to pass the class but making an A is nearly impossible.He rarely returns papers because he looses them(even if they're electronically submitted). It isn't uncommon for him to randomly select a grade for assignments he thinks he lost but you never turned in.. so maybe a good portion of my grade was random? who knows

If you can stay awake, and do the assignments within the semester regardless of when theyre due, you can pass. He is full of anecdotal advice from his worldly travels and beliefs, but is good natured. Attendance is not strictly enforced, but for God's sake do not let him catch you not paying attention, especially on a laptop.

I found this class very interesting... I paid attention half the time, took Yoga for EC, which is weird, especially for HS dude (think Pina Colada song) anyways. He is easy, he is strange, but he does a good job and I got an A... I mean you could take a serious class, but it is also interesting to know about other culture's religions and lives

This guy is awesome. He has wierd hours and is often unclear. However, he is a really easy B, and a fairly easy A. Just do the papers and stay awake in class and you'll be fine.
