Comment:
This class was a fun class, but the tests were difficult to say the least. His lectures are also mediocre; he only reads directly from a powerpoint he didn't even make, and he blows through them, not giving anyone any time to take notes. There are 3 main exams, and a final that consists of 2 tests, but the 2 tests are graded separately.

Had him for an applied med calc-based physics. AMAZING professor, very helpful and very willing to help you get the grade you want. Loves making jokes and is very pleasant in class. Beware, though - the tests are harder than anything I've ever done.

I had Dr. Sturrus this summer (2016) and absolutely loved him. He made lecture enjoyable and always made us laugh. He is such a nice person that really cares about his students and does not want anyone to fail. But it's physics so you obviously have to put in the time to study. I would take him again in a heartbeat. Best physics professor by far!

One of the funniest professors I have had at YSU. He is also really nice and very smart when it comes to physics. He may go off topic, but he is open to questions and will help however he can. He also curves grades to help you further. I would definitely take him again

Ive had Sturrus for 2 phys courses. His best teacher trait is that he's very laid back, relaxed kinda guy. His tests are difficult--mult choice KILLS ur grade :( (study the quiz questions!) but he curves &does his best to help. Doesnt give the clearest lectures, tends to mumble..lazy during in-class probs, skips steps easy to get lost!Hard material

I took Dr. Sturrus for PHYS. 1502 and the lab in the summer and the class was by far the worst academic experience I have ever had. I have never seen such smart people in a class struggle to comprehend the material as in this class. Tests are impossbile, homework is even worse (most of the class had to get tutored), didn't help you if you had ?s
