Comment:
Dr. Conner is pretty bad at giving a good explanation. He gets side tracked way too easily. He wouldn't follow a logical procession through the book (even though the book is set up to go from front to back). If you want a teacher that makes you need to look everything up take Conner. He's a great guy, but not so much a great teacher.

Nice guy, but he just doesn't know how to teach. He thinks everything is trivial to us like it is to him (he's very smart) so his explanations just went over everyone's head. When you want some clarification he is not good at listening students' concerns and he just moves on with the class

Professor Conner is a nice guy, but I was terribly confused of what he was talking about in class even though I had taken a linear algebra class before. He gives no additional resources to help you study for tests. Nor is there an answer key for the exams that you can study from for future exams. Not really a great professor overall.

Comment:
Take Conner if you want to deeply learn a topic in math. You'll have to teach yourself the basics of that topic, because that isn't really his strength, but he will show you the most interesting results in that subject if you have the requisite knowledge down. Basically, every class he teaches is like a master class in that topic.

I really struggled in this class. You must be able to teach yourself math from a textbook. Rarely did his lectures help me. Often, they confused me. However, he is a lenient grader, & his tests were somewhat easy. I did ok, and a huge curve put me at an A-. Dr. Conner is a great guy, and really funny, but if you take him, prepare to teach yourself.

Dr. Conner is an excellent professor, and will take hours out of his day to help you when you don't understand the concept. Sometimes his lectures are confusing, but if you don't understand something he's more than happy to explain as many times as you need.

He was a nice guy but coming to class didn't help me at all. If you can't learn from the textbook or the TA, it's a hard class.

He can be funny, but is mostly finding new ways to confuse me. I can see the benefit in offering new ways to learn something, but having to learn both at the same time was quite confusing.

Not sure why all these peeps are saying dr conner wasn't very good. I enjoyed this class and his funny nerdiness. He is very approachable but will let you know if you are acting like an obnoxious know-it-all. He gives lots of examples that are different from the book. Grades very kindly. Great Teacher.

Attending lecture is completely useless. Every lecture I walk out more confused than I was entering. I believe this may be dr. connor's first time teaching 313, and to his defense it is a hard subject. But everything he says is abstract. completely incomprehensible. His grading is fair and he is the nicest guy. He just can't teach this class

His lectures are incomprehensible. He chose a good book though, so thats how I learn. If you're an auditory learner don't take from him...

I don't know what classes these other users took, but I am in Linear Algebra and a math major and this is the worst math class I have taken at BYU. His lectures do more harm than good and students are teaching themselves entirely from the book. He is fair in his tests, but I feel I will be behind when I have to use this information again.

A complete and absolute slob. I might have gone to office hours more often if I didn't have to wear a bio-hazard jumpsuit every time I stepped through his door. Other than that he is a good professor.

Dr. Conner is a great teacher. He is very approachable. The first professor I ever visited in office hours! Very encouraging. Sometimes his lectures are little hard to follow, but it could just be that the subject is difficult. I would take any class from him again! He is very intelligent and knows a ton about math, and a bunch of other subjects!
