I'm currently taking my third class in 12 months with Prof. Laden. I love his tangents and I think he is interesting to listen to as a lecturer. I always learn something new and class is never boring. ANHT 1001 with him convinced me to major in Anthropology. Too bad he is leaving after this May Session. I wish I could keep taking his classes.

i heard a lot of people **** about laden going on tangents and how his tests were so terrible, but i thought they were stupid. The tangents made the class interesting as did his blatently political comments. he was so interesting! and if you read and went to class and lab the tests were not bad at all.

Greg Laden is great professor! His lectures are generally very interesting and he pulls in a lot of his past experiences to explain a lot of cultural aspects. The class covers such a wide range of material and Greg spurs intellectual thought in all of his lectures.

Greg Laden is an amazing teacher. He explains enlightening ideas in a clear way. I really enjoyed going and listening to his lectures. I was always talking about this class and telling people about the interesting things I'd learned in his class.

the class was very interesting, i liked it alot. the lab was okay..i had an 8am one on friday which sucked, the tests get alot harder as the class goes on. Laden is a really good lecturer. no homework which is always nice. just lab.

Laden is a great lecturer. Very interesting and he has stories from actual field work. He goes on "tangents," but they're related to the lecture material. The only times I've been bored were the days he didn't elaborate on the powerpoint--because he wanted people to go vote. Great prof, great class--as long as you keep an open mind.

I think Greg Laden is an outstanding professor. His body of knowledge extremely extensive, and his lectures are extremely interesting. Some say that his lectures jump around a lot and that the information is irrelevant...I don't agree. I've never fallen asleep in his lectures, and he's extremely funny. EVERYONE should take this class.

If you haven't had the opportunity to take a Laden class--well you should atleast try and see him in action yourself. I think this man is brilliant...who else could begin with one topic, tangent off into millions of others, and return to the original topic by the end of class? He does it without you realizing. you have to let it all sink in.

Laden is definetly opinionated, but I was never offended like some people. In fact, it was his personality that kept me awake at times. It's hard to do well on the exams. Need to read the book and lab is really were you learn a lot. Was NOT thrilled to dissect a sheep's brain.

I've have never had such a rude, arrogant professor in my entire life. He spent most of the class insulting those who dared to hold religious beliefs and the rest of the time lecturing about Pygmies in the Congo.

Class was difficult, and Laden does appear to get off topic. Lectures are pointless, and lab is what helped me in the class. My TA was good, and the material is interesting, but I would recommend a different way of learning it instead of this class if you are really interested and can bypass it.

This class was very stressful. I really liked my TA, but Laden was very much removed from the activities of the class. He lectured on very complex subjects that were hard to adhere to what was going to be tested on. I did not dislike him, but teh tests need to have less "Which is NOT the correct statement" questions. Too much material to memorize!!

Sometimes his lectures are a bit confusing, but he really is an intelligent person. If you ever have any questions for him, stop by his office and he will answer them plus have a very interesting comversation as well. I recommend taking a class with him.

The exams in this class are mostly on information that comes from lab and the book, making the lectures pointless and off topic most of the time. Laden jumps all over the place and rarely lectures on topic. Everything I learned in this class I learned from my TA in lab or from reading the book.
