His class is an easy A. He does go off topic a bit but if you really listen to him and pay attention to the work he does on the board his work is easy to pick up on. Everything relates to the section you are on somehow. If you constantly interrupt him then it makes it more difficult to understand him.

Comment:

He was an interesting professor. It's easy to get an A in his class; however, I was really confused most of the time in his class. He's very passionate about this class but tells you random things and is distracted by himself eaily. However, if you needed help or needed to talk to him after class, he was always ready and was very understanding.

He is very random. Hard to learn anything in his class. He only gives one to two points per homework assignment, so you have to do all your work. Attendance is mandatory, although you can still pass if you don't go to class.

This was the worst class ever. I've never been spectacular in math, but not completely bad either I just need a little instruction. But, that is not what you get from him. His lectures have nothing to do with the homework or tests, and he digresses so much during them that you have no idea what he is talking about. WARNING: Don't take this class!

He is sort of scatter-brained and sometimes spends time teaching you stuff you'll never need to know for tests or anything else. However, he is really kind and helpful, and his class is relatively easy.

I really enjoyed Mr. Oles class. He gets off topic and scatters his thoughts but if you pay attention you'll get it.He gives little HW and its never more than 5 probs.You can miss class with no penalty. Doesnt use book. He gives tons of EC. My final grade was more pts than possible because of all the EC. Like 265/260 before the final. Take him!

MR. Oles is a nice guy, he just isn't the best teacher. He knows what he is talking about but has trouble teaching it. He has taught random things that aren't exactly needed. Overall he was an okay teacher, easy grader, and will help you if you ask for it. The tests are pretty easy. ALWAYS GIVES EXTRA CREDIT!! I am taking him again next semester.

Terrible. I am so disappointed in this class. He was very confusing and didn't ever want to clarify anything. He knows what he is talking about as far as math but he can't teach it. I am really good at math and I hated this class.

tests are sooooo easy.. and short. hes kinda crazy tho. he is a decent teacher, but what we do in class usually has nothing to do with homework or tests. he doesnt give quizzes.i probably wouldnt take him again if i could find someone better, but i wouldnt be too upset if i had to take him again

The math department in general at Eastern is not good. Mr. Oles is a nice man and very intelligent, but he does not do very well when if comes to teaching and explaining what the class is supposed to be learning. Some days I felt like I learned nothing, but as long as you go to class and turn in work you will pass.

He is HORRIBLE!! I have learned absolutly nothing in his class. I would never recommend him to anyone. His teaching style is by far the weirdest thing and he is not good at explaining anything. He expects you to understand everything, and gets mad when he has to eplain himself more than once!

Comment:

People who don't like professor Oles are typically the students who excell in math. He tends to be unorganized but he grades easily and very rarely has quizzes/tests. I do not do well in math, therefore, I really enjoy having Mr. Oles. His tendancy to be confused has only been to my advantage because I'm usually confused when it comes to math, too.
