I took him for Quant. Lit. my 1st year before knowing any professors. If you're not already interested in math, this is not the class for you. He lectures the entire class, using only the chalkboard for examples. Homework is optional, but worth the effort in the long run. He doesn't give extra credit, but you can have a cheat sheet 4 each test.

Comment:

The best math teacher I have ever had. He explains the material very well and will answer any question no matter how many times it has been asked. He cares about his students and wants everyone to pass. He lets you use index cards on quizzes and test too. As long as you do the work you will pass.

This professor is awesome. He is just hilarious and the tests are not that hard but you wiil need to study. He lets you use note cards for test and quiz's and overall is the most caring and entertaining professor in this school.

I highly recommend him for calculus because he makes sure everyone learns the material. If you do all the homework and problems in the textbook, then his class is an easy A. The key to this class is sitting down and doing majority of the problems in the book and he is always willing to help.

Guo-An Diao is one of my favorite teachers. At first I struggled in his class so he gave me one on one help. I really took advantage of his office hours and worked hard to get an A. Once I got past his accent I realized that he was a great and caring teacher.

Dr. Diao is an amazing professor. Unfortunately, during the first 2 weeks of the semester, he switched out of our class to go teach another class that needed a math teacher. During the 2 weeks that I had him, he was amazing, and I looked forward to his class everyday. Must have him because he makes you work for the grade, never is given to you.

He loves his students as well as our education. No problem with him explaining anything the 2nd or 3rd time. The best is he gives ken ken (ex. cred.) after each quiz and it is 10 pts.

Dr Diao was a great professor and REALLY knew his stuff when it came to math. he was very nice and approachable and helpful and was willing to give partial credit. the only complaints i have where after sitting through a LONG lecture he teaches up to the VERY last second and sometimes runs 2-3 mins over. that is a pet peeve of mine!!

Diao is a very hard professor. He is very hard to understand and goes very fast in class. He is also a hard grader if you don't get the whole problem correct expect to get it wrong he never gives half credit which is pretty hard when its math. don't take him

I really liked Dr. Diao when I had him. Math seems to be most people's trouble spot, and he seemed like he understood that. He was helpful and made sure that everyone did their assignments. His accent is thick, but you can understand what he's saying. He's in the right field of work.

Comment:

Dr. Diao is the best math professor. Many students who have taken him call him the "walking textbook" because he can answer any question you may have. Math is not an easy subject but he can explain topics in a way that even a non-math major can understand. I have taken a few math classes at HFU and would highly recommend him. ASK Qs! He's helpful!
