Comment:

I had to retake Biology and drop out of his class. When you are in lecture with him, you feel confident thinking you grasped well the concepts but when it comes to exams or lab quizzes, all that confidence just goes away. So if you are taking him, GOOD LUCK , your going to need it.

Comment:

Had good intentions teaching this course but a majority of the class weren't Biology majors so I felt he could've made the material easier to understand or at least changed test material (very difficult, people had C's or below). Never specific on what a person needs to study for lab quizzes (every week) and a tough grader. Would not recommend.

Comment:

This class is a lot harder compared to bio-109 there is no doubt he is an old school professor there are no powerpoints, there are no extra opportunities just only lab quizzes and exams for lecture. This course can be thought as a pre-A&P 1 and 2 course involving the whole phylogenetic tree of the animal kingdom. Good luck to whoever takes this.

This has definitely been the worst professor I've had in my three years at accc. Although he is knowledgable in his field, it's like pulling teeth for any help or clarity. He really doesn't have passion for teaching students anymore. He expects you to know a generous amount for each exam (3 chapters to 6 chapters a test). HORRIBLE.

Test are average multiple choice along with 10 true and false expect a couple of weird test questions relating to the sections that will trick you, lab goes along with the course to help you better understand material unless snow days interfere. Read book and record lectures. He does not give out power point and uses the old fashioned projector.

Professor Huey is a really wonderful teacher and nice guy. I recommend that you print the chapter outline notes from the book's website (for free) because Huey does NOT hand out powerpoint lecture notes. Attendance for lecture is not mandatory but the labs are, and there are quizzes and lot of extra credit! Take Huey for Bio I, you learn a lot!

He has a great personality, but not his teaching. lectures are not mandatory abs you can only miss 2, but still have to take the lab quiz from the class he taught that you missed. bio 1 is lots of extra credit...bio 2 NONE. study guide can be answered from book, his exams a hard. in his 30+ years teaching no one has ever gotten 100%. you MUST study

So this man is very very boring. His study guides are listed as open inded question on his study guide such as "Name all the parts of the cell and its fuctions." They were not study guides with the answers. Therefore you either have the right answer or not on your study guide. His letures were boring because it was just talk talk talk no activity.

Beware, Bio one is not the same as Bio 2. His exams are mostly based of his lectures. He asks very specific questions you can only obtain by going to lecture. As for lab im not a huge fan of the quizes every week. Howvever, he teaches what it takes to excel in the upper sciences. If you want to be challege take Huey for Bio 2.You will learn or fail

To be honest, he's not a bad teacher. His exams are easy but he never gives homework so you can't really know what is coming or what parts in the chapter to focus on. His exam questions are sometimes random. That made me lose alot of grades.

Really good teacher. His tests are fair and easy, but you do have to study. You are not required to attend lectures, but u have to for the lab sessions. He never gives homeworks. The syllabus is easy and he explains it very well. His methods are helpful. I would recommended him
