You are on your own, lectures notes arent self explanatory, his lectures are so boring, Just study the text and watch you tube videos to learn. Its not easy to follow him during the lectures , as he doesnt speak proper english. You dont have any better options for Eecs3221 though.

He is a boring prof and with heavy accent but none of these as bad his attitude. I have never met a prof who doesn't care this much before. I will avoid him under any circumstances. I couldn't bare it, but that is just me.

Do not take it with this guy, he is really dumb. Asks a question on a test and expects a completely different answer. When you look at the test it seems really simple, but when you check the solutions, you will see he has asked something different. Can not speak english to save his life. Assignments come out of nowhere. Average is a 50 and stays

The course is very informative. professor is nice and helpful. Every time I have question, I just email him, and get response right away. TA always said he does not understand my code, but when I show professor my code, he always point out my problem right away. People have different level of understanding, our professor is the best for sure.

His accent is bad, but one of those funny ones, and understandable in the end. He will take questions and answer all of them, so you won't have a topic passing by unclear. Project and assignments are lenghty, and quizes are useful and straightforward. Exam questions will be from slides, and slides are posted online. Easy to get a good mark.

Accent is bad and hard to understand at first, but you'll be immune. Assignments and project is long, so code as soon as you can. Exam can be tricky.

He might be a nice guy but he is definitely not a good teacher. It seems that I have more knowledge about computer than him. If u could attend his OS class, you would see he has little knowledge and sense about this course. It sad for computer science program to have such a person to teach us.I would feel guilty to be as a teacher if I were him.

Very nice guy, good lectures, great course website, gave us a TON of extensions on assignments. He definitely knows his stuff. His quizzes can be tricky, but the midterm is pretty easy, know your threads and processes really well. Exam was tough, but fair. Start coding early on assignments, they take time and patience!

He tried. He failed. One simple reason...he defers to the TA and my TA was an absolute jerk. Assignments were ok but not too much help was given on how to do them. What really bothers me is his exam questions are tricky and require you to take a chance. Not the best way to test someone's knowledge of subject.

He's a good prof. Assignments were easy and so were the midterm. The final was hard but still OK. The negative points for T/F questions were a bit disappointing.

Oh man!!! I could only attend his class twice for the whole term. I don't know how he managed to pass the interview when he applied to York. I barely understand what he's talking about. If any of you have to take his class, my only advice is: "Drop it!!!" And the tests are hard and kind of 'picky' (like: bit shifting, who cares about that?; somethi

Give this guy a break. His english isn't that bad. It all depends on the cultral exposure of the student. He has the chinese-english accent but he does make his point clearly. Compared to Prof Gordin Turpin, he is definitely better in CSE 2031
