Comment:

Dr. Maybruck is a great professor who really cares about her students. She is on the older side, so have a little patience with her. She is VERY smart and has a great understanding of the field she teaches in. Follow the guidelines for the group projects/journals and you'll end up with an easy A.

Comment:

If you actually want to learn anything about public speaking in a clear, controlled, and informed environment, this is not the place. Don't care and want an easy A? Take this class. Prepare to learn about things last minute, listen to half hour tangents, and find out speech requirements after you've given your speech.

The prof is very sweet and sincere. She is very detailed of how she wants the work, don't have it done correctly like she wants it? There goes your 10 points! Just do what she asks, do it exactly like she ask and you'll be fine! I didnt NEED the book so I didn't use it. The prof gives lots of handouts which is helpful.

Comment:

Maybruck expects you to understand what she wants you to do. DONT dare to ask for help. You will "present"( talk in front of class) daily. Do NOT take if you want to learn, I rather listen to someone scratch their nails on a chalkboard than listen to her lecture. She's very old and occasionally needs to stop to take medecine.

Comment:

If you want to improve your voice and articulation and receive concrete feedback look no further. This is the only V&A course offered within the LACCD in the Communications field. PROS: You will notice a great improvement, General(Standard) American for the Entertainment industry, the material offered is worth gold. CONS: Be very patient.

Easy to pass, but an awful experience if you actually want to learn. The irony of her teaching a COMMUNICATION class is laughable. She is unorganized and gets angry that the class doesn't understand what is going on. If you have a question, keep it to yourself because she will just tell you that it is in your syllabus or that she already told you.

It's easy to pass her class but I didn't enjoy the class at all. She's extremely unorganized. Her instructions were not clear at all, and she hates when someone needs clarification. She can be a little rude too. It was an easy A though.

The upside was an easy A. That being said, her class was impossible to sit through, she treated us like high school students, and she was close to incomprehensible regarding instructions, assignments, etc.

I AM Currently taking this teacher.she is very unclear on the assignments, im pretty sure half of the class didnt know what to do most of the time.her grading isnt fair,she grades from 2 1/2 to 8 1/2 wtf? when your giving your speeches she doesnt even look at you.good luck if you decide to get it make sure you bring something to entertain u.

A nice lady, but very disorganized, not very clear on how assignments should be done. Abrupt, a little critical, seems distracted alot. Cares about her students, and the subject, but was too confusing to take a class from.
