Great guy but hard class. Write down everything he talks about or you'll be in trouble during the final. Grading rubric isn't set in stone, will change the point total for iclicker questions at end of semester. Overall great guy and would have him again for an easier class.

Very hard professor, the only thing he puts into the grade book is simply three tests. If you do poorly on one of them, just drop out. There will be no way to recover from it. I guarantee it.

Comment:

Dr. Williams is a really nice person with a cool British accent so that makes the class more interesting. The class itself was very interesting, but you are graded on very few things. Basically just tests and attendance. The class average was about 60% in my class. You only need a 75% or higher to get an A though because he makes the tests so hard.

Amazing lectures. His accent and upbeat, witty personality is exceptional. Wish i could take more of his classes because he's passionate and caring. Was willing to help me understand things outside of class and print off notes for me that i missed. Class was interesting, a little challenging but the best class I've taken yet! he's wonderful!!

Dr. Willams is a legendary professor. He will help you at any time of the day, and allow you to ask the same question over and over until you understand it. He assigns you a textbook to read, but its really not needed. If you take great notes on EVERYTHING, you will pass easily. 75% is an A, he knows his stuff, and he is a respected professor.

Amazing guy, he makes time for you and doesn't make you feel stupid when you're not quite getting it. He treats you with respect and is very fair in all of his classes.

He posts the entire semester on D2L. There are weekly videos that you must watch and the quizzes for them are a little difficult. He has three tests and as long as you get above a 75% it's an A. The same goes for the final grade as well. Just aim for above 75% and you're good to go. He's super nice and just show up!

Mine was online so you got to watch lectures from about 15-50min or more and videos. Just take it in class because it was harder online and finding time. On the good side he has a good grading scale that 100-75 is a A and 75-65 is a B, 65-55 is a C and so on. Everything was due every week.

Ian's passion is truly contagious. He was the reason I chose UWRF to pursue my Geology major. His lectures are entertaining and enjoyable. All around great guy with a heart of gold! And yes, he does expect you to study for tests. College isn't supposed to be easy. Show up, read your notes, good to go.

Professor Williams is extremely witty, intelligent, and fun to be around. He makes things very intriguing and you really feel like engaging yourself. One of the best professors I've ever had. I wish I had the chance to take another one of his classes, however, It don't make sense for my major.

If your in for a dashing good time full of witty jokes, rocks, and 70's ties this is the professor for you! He makes every minute interesting despite the fact that its geology. (which is actually interesting) Despite the fact he's from "over the pond", he makes a wonderful teacher and enjoys his subject so much he has his own geology comic book.

Nice and funny teacher. Loves his subject and it shows when he speaks. Gives you past exams to study with for exams on D2L. Hard and boring subject, but he makes it easier and more interesting. Print off the notes on D2l and bring them to class to fill them in, it's way easier that way. Always bring your iclicker because he does questions every day

He is really awesome and makes class really fun and easy. Print out the powerpoints, it is a lot easier to take notes. Have 3 midterms and a final, not to hard if you study notes. Does iclicker questions almost everyday for easy points. Go to class everyday cause sometimes he gives extra credit to the people who showed up. Has an awesome accent.

AMAZING professor! Very funny, very informative, very awesome accent. You learn loads, but he keeps it fun. Used power point in every lecture, but that's not a bad thing. Tests are very easy if you study. Best professor I've had the uwrf! If you can, TAKE HIM! :)
