HE IS A GREAT TEACHER!!! Yes, he can be sarcastic and impatient but it's only towards people who deserve it. If he says bring a bluebook to the test, don't show up without one. COMMON SENSE RIGHT! My favorite teacher! He is extremely knowledgable with the subject matter. At times he can be condescending and impatient, but if you respect him and do the work without complaining you won't have a problem. His papers are very hard and a lot of research to write, but you learn an incredible about writing them. I recommend him, definitely!

My favorite teacher! Very hard and not helpful, but extremely intelligent and knowledgable. He expects the work done on the date it's due with no excuses and no whining. Give him the respect he expects, don't complain about having to work, (MAKE SURE you write essays with footnotes!) and glean from all the experience that he has to share.

One of my favorite teachers of the term. Honestly he is highly intelligent and definitely know what he is talking about. He like to present his own personal view and a student should not be offended because this is college. He will not offer help but if you ask for it you will definitely receive it. Dr. Furnish is definitely a misunderstood teacher. He appears to be very passionate about History and his class reflects this. I took his online class and it was very reasonable. The tests appear to be difficult, but if you follow his suggestions and directions precisely, you'll do very well in his class.

Dr (Don't forget the Dr. or he WILL correct you) Furnish is very knowledgable but, comes across as mean, belittles people and does not really care about his students. It seems that he is miserable when in the classroom because his students are not as smart as he is and can be condescending.

The main thing Dr, YES DR, Furnish wants you do to is FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. As long as you do that, you will do OK. IN emals he does not come across well so if you have probems with his, call him on the phone. It made a world of difference for me. I got a B but it was A LOT of work and very stressful. I learned a lot but wouldnt take him again.

Dr. Furnish is wonderful! I took his history 1111 course online and I learned so much! He is very generous with the amount of time he gives you to take a test, usually 3-4 days and tells you up front what he expects of you in the syllabus. As long as you follow all of the directions for the essays you will make a good grade!

Grades Tests unfairly..regretted his class online. As some of you said: he is arrogant, he makes people feel bad and basically I don't think he is a good teacher in any aspect. IF YOU DON'T LIKE HISTORY.. HE WILL MAKE YOU HATE IT EVEN MORE!!!!

First of all this class id difficult. But then again, I learned a lot and really enjoyed each class. By the way the reason Furnish jumps from 500 AD to 300BC is becasue in HISTORY what has happened in the past greatly affects the future, so the kid who was ragging on Furnish is out of place. Furnish your awesome!

If you're looking for an easy A, this guy isn't it but he is very enriching and its nice to be around someone with some actual intellect. His tests are 80% or more essay questions and its not a right/wrong basis, just make your statement with strong evidence and stand your ground = A. He HATES being distracted, so be careful or public scorn follows

He's a total cutie pie. This is class is really, really hard though. The tests don't really cover any historical information, just common knowledge and an essay. He's opinionated, and a bit of a hard-ass but I love him and think he's hilarious. He knows a lot and is always willing to impart knowledge.

yo this guy is pretty funny but its not worth it. when he teaches he skips around from 500ad to 300bc to 456ad and its confusing. he gave the class a 7-10 page paper which is a lot. and also all of his tests are essays its a hard class dont take it trust me
