Handles the general conceit and self-impressedness of 1st year philosophy students (the cheeseboard brigade) with aplomb.

Good teacher, very enthusiastic and intelligent. Allows himself to get sidetracked far too easily though.

Comment:
Undeniably brilliant, but arrogant and generally uninterested in what students have to say if it doesn't happen to coincide with what he does. Great lecturer- whether or not he's a good tutor is a little bit more difficult to say.

Comment:
Mr. Farin is particularly enthusiastic and jovial, especially for someone so into German philosophy. His classes are hit or miss, though, mostly dependent on the chemistry of the class. He tolerated crib sheets of Euclid's exact steps used by students at the board, which disappointed me. Very tough in don rags.

Not such a great tutor. Has a tendency to try to force the discussion onto points that end up being dead-ends, wasting time and disrupting the natural flow.
