DO NOT TAKE HIM! Has a sign in sheet every class period. Is the laziest professor I have EVER had. Makes you separate the stuff you turn in into section numbers and then put it in alphabetical order for him.YOU WILL HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF.He just reads off a powerpoint that the BOOK made, not him. Has 5-6 tests, not counting practicals or quizzes.

You will pass this class, but he's annoying as hell with his made up stories to make himself sound cool. He doesn't teach very much and you pretty much do everything yourself but are still required to come to class. Not too bad but not the best either.

DO NOT TAKE HIM! Lectures cover very little Bio material. He spends most of the class telling stories. He does not give study guides or review before tests,quiz,practicals. He rambles about random material and doesn't use the powerpoints(which he didnt even have to make). You are required to know all material before class. Prepare to teach yourself

Comment:

Mr. Dean is one of the best teachers and best science teacher I have ever had. I loved this class! He is a mix of kung fu panda, Bill Nye the science guy, & Chuck Norris built in one. He is hilarious and knows his stuff extremely well. He will go out of his way to help you. Come to class, read the text, and enjoy the fun!

Jimmy DEan <-(that's how he spells it "due to family lore") is the man. He can leg press 1450 lbs, teaches kung fu and practices it 9 days a week, has dialed a rotary phone with a severed finger, and killed a bear with his bare hands. Take him. You'll laugh your way through class.

He is always willing to help. He makes a lot of jokes so it isn't a 100% serious. Uses the text book a lot, it is a class that you need to look over the material OFTEN not just before a test. It gets a lot easier towards the end of the semester. Labs are optional but you should go to most of them.

This class is not worth the hassle take someone else if you can. He refuses to give study guides. His test are very inconsistant. And he doesnt care about the well being of his studens. His jokes are crude and insulting. He gives you quizzes but no grades for them. Go a different route if you can.

He was not helpfull at all. Before class he said he was there to help but almost all that he would do was sit there and goof off with the students, it was ok sometimes, but he talks so much to others during that time and he makes himself seem unapproachable if you have a question about anything. Do not take him, he is a terrible, careless,teacher!!

Very easy if you listen to what he has to say. Tests can be easy since he goes over each question a day or so before. Lab is easy as well. Great teacher if you listen to what he has to say. Very easy going.
